Bobber X-Treme
U.S. Patent Pending

The basic function of the BobberXtreme is to present a steel target to the shooter from behind cover, controlled by a computer interface. The exposure times with the BobberXtreme can be as short as a second since the whole idea behind reactive shooting is to train the body to automatically carry out the complex action of firing a gun without having to process the whole sequence with your conscious mind. Because target plates are only 8 inches, only accurately placed shots will have any effect. The BobberXtreme tests split-second judgment and threat analysis by presenting the shooter with two separate target plates, one directly behind the other. One plate is an eight-inch circle, and the other is an eight-inch octagon. Depending on your training scenario, you can classify all the circle plates as hostile, and all the octagon plates as friendly. The circles and octagons look enough alike to force the shooter to be sure, and help break the shoot any anything that flinches habit. In a gunfight, one successful shot wont necessarily solve your problem. The BobberXtreme facilitates this proper training with target heads mounted to a rubber block hinge. The targets fall back when hit, but automatically snap right back into place, forcing the shooter to continue to engage the threat until it retreats back behind cover. -Bobber X-Treme Cutsheet (PDF) Download our cutsheet for more information

- reactive steel target with automated reset - Circular and octagonal ar500 steel target plates - accurate threat recognition now required - breaks the shoot at anything that flinches habit - Choose knock-down or flop heads - target reacts, but stays in place until it retreats behind cover - breaks the one successful shot solves the problem habit - Independent target control - Computerized scenarios and exposure times
__________________________________________ The basic function of the Bobber-Xtreme is to present a steel target to the shooter from behind cover. This plate can be hit at any time while it is exposed, and a computer interface is used to control the frequency and duration of the target exposures. SPeed The whole idea behind reactive shooting is to train the body to automatically carry out the complex action of firing a gun without having to process the whole sequence with your conscious mind. The exposure times with the Bobber-Xtreme can be as short as a 1/2 second, so speed is of the essence. aCCUraCy Not only is missing the intended target inefficient and ineffective, it is a staggering liability during an actual armed conflict. The 8-inch target plates on the Bobber-Xtreme jump up from and retreat behind total cover, so only accurately placed shots will have any effect. JUdgment Split-second judgment and threat analysis may be the most important elements of the training triangle. The revolutionary Bobber-Xtreme addresses this issue by presenting the shooter with two separate target plates, one directly behind the other. One plate is an 8-inch circle, and the other is an 8-inch octagon. Depending on your training scenario, you can classify all the circle plates as hostile, and all the octagon plates as friendly. When one of the plates jumps up from behind cover, the shooter must quickly determine whether the plate is hostile or friendly and then take the appropriate action. The circles and octagons look enough alike to force the shooter to be sure, and help break the shoot any anything that flinches habit. Stay on target In a gunfight, one successful shot wont necessarily solve your problem. The tactically correct approach is to engage the threat until it is neutralized or it is no longer available. The Bobber-Xtreme facilitates this proper training with target heads mounted to a rubber block hinge. The targets now fall back when hit, but automatically snap right back into place. This forces the shooter to continue to engage the threat until it retreats back behind cover, and helps break the one good shot solves the problem habit. oVer >>>

The Bobber X-treme is a reactive steel actuator designed to lift multiple steel plates from behind cover into view of the shooter. The indicator plate rises to the up position with a sliding motion. each time the plate slides back to the down position, it is reset for the next shot. The shield may be any one of several shapes dictated by the particular type of training being done. available front shields include (but are not limited to): an offset, no shoot full human silhouette, a centered human torso, and a centered simple barricade. The Bobber X-treme is self-armoring and protects itself from bullets fired within +/-45 degrees of perpendicular. The armor consists of ar500 steel to protect the unit from standard handgun loads. The body also has a secondary splatter control system that contains splatter from the target plate and prevents it from returning to the shooter. The Bobber X-treme is field serviceable and can be maintained by standard range personnel using standard hand tools such as a socket wrench, screw gun and screwdriver. The pneumatic components use quick-connect fittings for simple replacement. The Bobber X-treme can be triggered pneumatically without the use of any electricity, or it can be triggered by a 12V signal of less than 100ma. The actuator consumes about 10 cubic inches of air per actuation when it is electrically triggered. all air connections are quick-connect, push-in air fittings for use with flexible air tubing. The Bobber X-treme is capable of independent operation as well as operation in unison. each actuator contains a built-in interface valve for operation in pre-programmed computer scenarios. The Bobber X-treme is designed for full control of the up speed and the down speed individually. It is capable of independent operation as well as operation as a group. The Bobber X-treme is designed to sit on dirt, gravel, or other flat surfaces. It also allows for permanent mounting on a concrete surface. The Bobber X-treme is available with an optional hinge mechanism allowing it to fold down out of the way (concrete mount only). The control lines can be buried in the ground or run on the surface and armored. The steel plates are manufactured from 3/8 armor plate (ar-500), front shields are manufactured from the same grade or better. Steel panels are sandblasted in compliance with painting specification Sp-6. The Bobber X-treme provides for attachment of lumber (plywood) to the facade that hides the primary steel structure and deters bullet splatter. It also allows for attachment of computerized hit-sensing controls for automated scoring and hit information.
