POST OFFICE CASTS OFF FROM PECK SLIP
The USPS will replace its longtime outpost on Peck Slip, a block below the Brooklyn Bridge, with a smaller, 3,500-square-foot storefront four blocks south at 116 John St. Winick Realty Groups Annie Shinn represented the USPS, while Darrell Rubens, also of Winick, represented building owner Metro Loft Management. This was Mr. Rubens second transaction with the Postal Service, having negotiated a lease at 63 Wall St. seven years ago.

Danny Hodak, who previously opened the acclaimed Mediterranean eatery Taboon, has leased 1,000 square feet at 30 E. 13th St. across from the New School for a new, quick service spot that will have a homey feel and a wood floor. Kelly Gedinsky of Winick Realty Group represented Hodak. Winick colleagues Joseph Isa and Josh Siegelman represented the building owner, Double MK Realty.

AFTER 38 YEARS JEWELER BRANCHES OUT WINICK BRINGS IN MYSTERIOUS NEW TENANT AT COLUMBUS SQUARE
The store, a yet-to-be-named childrens sporting goods and clothing shop, will be taking a 7,000 square foot ground floor space, along with a 2,000 square foot basement, at 808 Columbus Ave. At nearby 805 Columbus Ave, also part of the Columbus Square development, Starbucks took up the last corner availability on the property by snagging a 1,200 square foot space on 100th St. Verizon Wireless took a 1,500 square foot space next to the new Starbucks, too.

After 38 years in business, Maurice Badler Fine Jewelry is expanding. The retailer recently signed on for nearly 1,000 square feet at 485 Park Ave., between East 58th and East 59th streets. The new shop, which will open for business within two weeks, is 10 times the size of the jewelers tiny longtime outpost at 578 Fifth Ave., which will remain open. Maurice Badler was represented in negotiations by Winick Realty Groups Lori Shabtai and Monica Kass.

2ND TENANT LEASES SPACE AT 475 DRIGGS


Winick Realty Group LLC reports it has handled a lease for salon chain Nail It at 475 Driggs Ave. Winick Realty Group LLCs Diana D. Boutross, senior managing director at Winick, represented both the salon and the ownership, Driggs Development, in the long-term lease transaction. This is the second lease we have completed at this address on behalf of Driggs Development, said Boutross, who noted that Asian fusion restaurant Fushimi, in the other space, is set to open this week.

KIDS RETAILER LEASES 30,000 S/F STORE


Youngworld, the childrens retailer with 16 stores in six states, leased 30,000 s/f for a new three-story location at 37-30 Junction Boulevard, between 37th Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. The 20,000 s/f vacated by Youngworld at 37-80 Junction Boulevard has subsequently been leased to iconic New York City drugstore chain Duane Reade. We had to get creative, senior managing director Zach Mishaan said of the two deals. Duane Reade needed to be closer to the subway and Youngworld needed more space. It was a perfect fit.
