WTP FLOCCULATION AUXILIARY

TANFLOC

Organic Vegetable Coagulant from Renewable Resources Cationic Coagulant / Flocculant for Water and Wastewater

TANAC

CHALLENGE / OPPORTUNITY A water treatment plant with a capacity of 43,000 m/day used to treat water for public supply and located in the southern-most region of Brazil was seeking an alternative to reduce the residual aluminium present in the water as well as a means to improve decantation. The plant would use an average of 34 mg/l of metallic inorganic salt as coagulant which resulted in an aluminium residual content above 0.5 mg/l in the treated water. The use of 2 mg/l of

Located in southern Brazil, Tanac is the worlds largest producer of mimosa vegetable extracts.

Tanac combines quality products and services with environmental preservation at all stages of the tannin production process.

the treatment process made it possible to reduce primary coagulant dosage which, in turn, resulted in the reduction of residual

aluminium content. Besides achieving this objective, it was also possible to significantly reduce alkalising agent consumption, resulting in a 25.7% drop in total monthly costs compared to the previous treatment system.

Channelling strengths to reach common targets permanently involves all the members of the Tanac team. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC an NSF certifications are the result of team work.
