Active Learning | ENTRY LEVEL | Computer Science Objectives Students will be able to identify the available features in Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will be able to state the main features in Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will able to explain the function for each main features in the Microsoft PowerPoint. Procedure Students will open the Microsoft PowerPoint program to identify all the available features. Students will use prior knowledge about computer to identify the main features in Microsoft PowerPoint. Students to present pictures to explain the main elements in the Microsoft PowerPoint. NETS Profile Technology Literate Students Use keyboard and suitable program (e.g., Paint) to convert any display from Microsoft PowerPoint to images. Use Windows Photo Viewer to display images while presenting. Use technology resources (e.g., YouTube, Internet) to collect supporting and additional information regarding Microsoft PowerPoint. Active Learning | ADOPTION LEVEL | Computer Science Objectives Students will be able to create a slideshow presentation about the definition of computer with Microsoft PowerPoint using the main features. Procedures Students will write down about the definition of computer. Students will be doing online research on information about input devices using web browser (e.g., Google). Students will create a slideshow about the definition of computer using Microsoft PowerPoint with all multimedia features. Students will show their slideshow in the classroom. NETS Profile Technology Literate Students Use keyboard, mouse and other common input and output devices efficiently and effectively. Students will use Microsoft PowerPoint to create slideshow presentation by choosing the appropriate design templates to enhance the learning delivery. Procedures Students will be given certain topic on related subject to be presented. Students will find and gather information related to the given topic. Students will insert the information and design the slideshow in appropriate manner. NETS Profiles for Technology Literate Students Use content-specific tools, software and hardware to collect information and structure the slideshow to present the findings. Use general purpose productivity tools to support productivity, to enhance skill, and facilitate progress. They will be able to link Microsoft PowerPoint slideshow with other programs. They will use their findings to create interesting presentation about the types of computers. Procedures Students will find information about Microsoft PowerPoint compatibility with other programs or applications. Students can choose to link any programs that will suit with Microsoft PowerPoint slideshow. Students will present their slideshow interactively. Collaborate with peers, experts, and others using telecommunications collaborative tools to investigate curriculum-related problems, issues, information, and to develop solutions or products for audiences inside outside the classroom. Students will be able to link Microsoft PowerPoint with others programs or applications. Students will be able to convert PowerPoint slideshow presentation into a video. Procedures Students will use their prior knowledge about Microsoft PowerPoint to create an interactive slideshow. Students will navigate the website through http://office.microsoft.com/enus/powerpoint-help/turn-your-presentation-into-a-video-HA010336763.aspx to gather the knowledge. Students will prepare their slideshow about the future of computers independently. Students will convert their complete slideshow into a video.
