Input from you: During the first lesson, we will discuss why you need to create a bibliography. I will give a brief introduction to MLA citation style and discuss the importance of correctly formatting a bibliography. I will also discuss the rubric by which their bibliography will be graded. Students will understand that they have to correctly format their bibliographies, their sources should be reliable and authoritative, and that the information they use should be current (within ten years). sheets that they filled out for every source they used into citationmachine.net. At the end of the lesson the students will print out the first draft of their bibliography. During the second lesson the students will have the opportunity to evaluate and correct a classmates bibliography. The students will then get their own bibliography back and make all necessary revisions. Guided practice: During lesson one, I will model how to input data into citation machine using the bibliography sheets I created. During lesson two, I will pass out the bibliography I created that has five errors. The students will have about five minutes to look over the bibliography and identify and correct the mistakes they find. Next, I will use the document camera to project the error filled bibliography and ask the class share what errors they found and how we should correct them. We will also discuss the currency and reliability of the sources included in my mock bibliography. I will then randomly pass out the bibliographies the students created during lesson one and ask the students to evaluate their classmates work and make necessary corrections. As they look over their classmates bibliography they will also fill in the bibliography checklist.

Closure I will end the lesson by asking them to save their work to their network folders and

Check for understanding: Why do we need to include bibliographies in our research? What does authoritative mean? Why is it important to include current (10 years or less) sources in your research)? Whats next? Students will save their bibliographies to their network files and print them out to hand in with their papers when they are due.
