Introduction My friends, when Jesus left this earthly life he commissioned his disciples to carry on his work and

promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide, inspire, encourage and strengthen us. As we also celebrate this Mothers Day, let us pray for hearts and minds open to the Spirit to create a world that is safe and nurturing for every mothers child.

Registration for the CCD Program K 9 (5-14 yrs) May is Registration Month for the Kindergarten CCD Program. Children who will be 5 years old by December 31, 2012, and not attending MSA, should enroll in the parish catechetical program which begins September 2012. Application forms are now available in the Sacristy, the Rectory Office (236-9866), and from Mrs. Maria Pacheco, the Parish Catechetical Coordinator. All Kindergarten applications must include a Baptism certificate and the Registration fee. CCD fees are $135 per student per year with cheques made payable to St. Patricks Church. A familys inability to pay does not prevent that family from receiving the Churchs service. Families in financial need should make an appointment with Fr. Paul to discuss an appeal for assistance or special consideration. Returning CCD Students CCD students presently registered in the program need to complete the form enclosed with the family invoice that was sent home with your child. Return the completed form with payment by the June 2 deadline to either the Rectory, Mrs. Pacheco, or Class Catechist. Students not returning to the program should still complete the form and return it immediately. Please direct all enquires to Mrs. Essie Hans at the Diocesan Centre at 292-1981. Pope Benedict XVI: At Moments of Difficulty I have felt the Support of Your Prayers Vatican City, 9 May 2012 (VIS) - "From the first moment of my election as Successor of St. Peter I have always felt supported by the prayers of the Church, by your prayers, especially at moments of greatest difficultly, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart", said Benedict XVI today during his general audience. "Constant choral prayer is also an important way to overcome any trials that may arise on life's journey, because it is by being profoundly united to God that we can also be profoundly united to others". Catholic Questions & Answers

Is it the Catholic position that God loves us unconditionally in certain earthly matters (material blessings upon wicked and righteous alike), but not in salvation?
Answer (by Fr. Vincent Serpa, OP)

Celebration of Our Lady of Fatima Due to the Feast of Santo Cristo Mass being celebrated on the traditional May 13 date, the celebration of Our Lady of Fatima has been moved to Tuesday, May 15, at 8:00 p.m. at St. Patricks Church. The ceremony begins with a candlelight procession in the parking lot where the Rosary will be recited in both Portuguese and English. The Celebration continues in the Church with a Mass in Portuguese celebrated by Fr. Julio. Everyone is invited to attend this celebration of the first apparition of Our Lady to the three children in Fatima. Fish Fry at Stella Maris

God does love us unconditionally in that he loves us even in our sins. But he cannot love our sins. He cannot love evil. He will always forgive us if we repent. To love him back, we must be free to choose to love him or not. Love cannot be programmed or forced. To love him is the greatest thing we can do for ourselves. But we can choose to not love him. Our choice to not love him does not diminish his unconditional love. But it certainly diminishes ours!
