Professional Development Program EFFECTIVE INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
Level 100 Acquiring the knowledge
Goal: To enable participants to better understand the components of effective communication with colleagues, direct reports, leaders and stakeholders. Participants will learn how to successfully shape and deliver their message and understand what others are saying with greater clarity.
Level 300 Solving problems and sharing the knowledge with others
Goal: To expand your emotional intelligence (EI) in order to improve communication. This level helps participants to develop the ability to identify, self assess and manage their emotions while being aware of the feelings of others. Using a self-designed learning approach, participants will learn how to integrate new skills into their roles and workplace. The reflective process at this level focuses on what is important to achieve and why.
Program format:
Each level consists of three full day sessions, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. over a 6-week period. All sessions are interactive, participative and reflective and involve fieldwork assignments and debriefing. Each level includes three 30-minute private tele-coaching sessions to help participants identify personal strengths and weaknesses, uncover patterns and to put plans into action. Participants who want more coaching may enrol in the honours program which consists of three 60-minute private tele-coaching sessions. A management debriefing is conducted at the end of the program and a participant report is developed regarding what was learned, what has been improved, sustainability and next steps.
