When You Pray Pt.

10: TRUST
Pastor Maurice B. Breaux Bible Study

Job 21:15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him? Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. What makes a person doubt God? Why do people forget the evidence of God's power when they dont receive what they've asked for? Why do people get upset when God doesnt answer their prayer according to the way they wanted them answered? God specializes in the difficult things. He waits for someone to bring Him TRUST so He can showcase His love for them. When you are hurting, God is hurting. When you are grieving, God is grieving. He is touched by our infirmities (scripture). If there isnt trust in the relationship, how can there be a relationship. God wants to answer your prayer more than you need Him to answer you. Your prayers matter more to God than they do to you. But here is the question, "Do you trust God with the outcome?" "Do you still trust God when He answers your prayer a different way than you'd expect?" Trust doesn't have conditions nor does it require new evidence to prove worthiness. Trust is the reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety of someone; it is also placing a confidence or hope in that persons integrity, strength, ability, and surety.

When we trust God without wavering, we are literally express to God that His integrity I trust God because He has a track record with me. I seen His hands move in some areas of my life and I am persuaded that He will make every prayer request I bring Him good. God doesnt have to pass a litmus test to prove to me that He can do all things. He proved it when He raised Jesus from the dead.

What do you do when you dont get the very thing you have been praying for? What do you do when God answers your prayers in a different?

Whatever God gives you, it will always be better than what you asked for - and that better thing we didnt ask for is to remind us whos in charge.

The family of Lazarus wanted Jesus to come to them immediately, but He waited until the 4th day. Wine was needed and Jesus provided the best wine. The deaf and the dumb was made intelligent.

God will sometimes wait to answer your prayers to show you who is in charge. One thing we cannot do is forget that He is in charge and forget that He still answers prayers. When a person is in need of physical evidence before they believe, that person has drifted into the panic zone. John the Baptist needed evidence of who Jesus was Luke 7:20-22 (NIV) When the men came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?'" (21) At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. (22) So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. Just because it is not working out like you want doesnt mean it is not working out. Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

The problem doesnt limit God. Our prayers dont limit God.

There are no limits concerning the power of God. There were people that didnt believe that Jesus would rise from the grave - did that stop Him? Sarah didnt believe she would have a son - did that stop her? The man that has issues with his unbelieving heart - did that stop him? Nothing will ever be able to stop the power of God from manifesting in your life. Nothing...no-thing. Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
