BSc-IT program has been developed to provide the students with adequate theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable them to effectively participate in solving the complex problem of the IT industry. The recent emergence of global business, new technologies for data processing and data communication/networking environment, enable specialized science graduates to focus on professional careers in Information Technology. Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent/ 3 year Diploma from a State Board of Technical Education in India. Min.Duration: Three years (6 Semesters), Max.Duration: Six years. Lateral Entry to the Second Semester of BScIT. Eligibility:

1. 10+2 and Six months Computer Course from a reputed Institution. OR 2. 3 year Diploma in CS or ECE or IT from a State Board of Technical Education in India.OR 3. 3 year Diploma from a State Board of Technical Education in India and six month computer course from a reputed institution.

But, these Lateral Entry students have to pay the fees and appear for the first semester examination and clear the same.

Examinations: Generally held twice in a year - in April and October. Evaluation: 1) Continuous Evaluation 30% 2) Term end Examination 70%
Continuous evaluation is done through assignments. The students performance will be evaluated based on both continuous evaluation and term end examination by Sikkim Manipal University (SMU).

Details of grades:
A - Excellent (+70%) C - Good (+50%) D - Satisfactory (+40%) E - Failure
