Hi,

I would like to use material drawings in some spare parts. How can I use this function?

Regards,

Manuel Nuez

Correct Answer by Pardeep Malik on Jun 12, 2009 6:13 PM

Hi,

Yes u can attached any drawing with material.

But for this you have to use Document management System. In Configuration of DMS, different Document Types are defined and you can attached with CV01N.

SAP DMS is for storing documents such as CAD drawings, Materials pictures etc. With the document management system, users will be able to view the documents with ease within their SAP Module Systems. The document is well assigned to the object links in SAP such as Material Master; Purchase Order; WBS element; Sales Order etc. These links provide easy access to the desired and the supporting documents for business processes.

T Code u can Use CV01N, here define the document type and and after Document Data Tab, you can upload the the document and in object link Tab, give the material number for which u want the attchment.

Hope Clear u !

Pardeep Malik

Create document infor records using CV01N and then check in teh drawing attachement and then in the object links attach the material master. This is essentially using the DMS functionality .

IF you dont have Document Management sytems activated , you can use the "Services For Object" Button on the change material screen and Create an attachment there for the Drawing. Further you can enter the Drawing number in the "Drawing Number "field in Basic data 2 Tab for reporting.
