Should public high schools require that students should wear uniform? Nowadays, more and more students do not want to wear uniforms to schools. Some students think the styles of uniforms look awful and unfashionable. For example, I have a younger brother who hates to wear uniforms to school. He just wants to wear his own clothes. He considers that it is not a big deal to wear the clothes which he prefers. In fact, he do has the right to choose what he wants to wear and he has the right to makes his own decision as well. It seems like he is right, but there are still many problems when students wear their casual clothes to school. As for my younger cousin, she doesnt like to wear uniforms as well. She hates the rules of her school and even challenges to wear differently from others. The school demands all the students to wear white socks, but she thinks black socks are much more fashionable. She often complains to me that she doesnt like to wear uniforms and she envies at me. Because of being a college student, I can wear my T-shirts to school. Many girls tend to think the uniforms are not trendy enough for them to wear, and my

cousin thinks so, too. She even wears high heels to her school which I think the action is so stupid. I totally support wearing uniforms to schools because there are lots of advantages for students to wear school uniforms instead of wearing casual clothes to school. I have several reasons to support that students should wear uniforms to school. I recall that I was a student in public high school. I always wore a uniform. Wearing uniforms becomes more economical because uniforms are cheaper than other clothes and it can help my parents to cut down the costs of buying other clothes in the period of being a student. They do not have to buy too many uniforms; five uniforms are enough for me in a week. I do not have to consider what to wear every day; it saves a lot of time for me to deliberate about dressing. I just have to put on my uniforms and go to school. Learning is the main purpose for students to go to school. I have the responsibility to learn new things in the school. Uniforms are helpful for me to focus on my schoolwork. For instance, I had a classmate Henry who liked to buy new clothing and discuss his fashion clothes with other classmates. He spent too much time keeping his time on shirts, pants, shorts, and other clothing which made him had no interest in schoolwork. When I wear a uniform, I would not waste my time on comparing different clothing with my friends. I could concentrate on studying more easily because when I was in school. I can also show my neatness by wearing

uniforms. For instance, in my high school, I wore school uniforms which are white and clean. They were different from everyday clothes which contain lots of vivid and fancy color. Furthermore, the most important reason is campus safety. I saw news last month which told about a school has no compulsory regulations to compel students to wear uniforms. In Taipei County, a young person, Huang who pretends that he was a student of DE-LIN Institute of Technology and he sold drug named alpha-methylphenethylamine to students. Almost ten students were involved in this case. I would be identified easily if I wore uniforms, teachers and students could simply separate students and outsiders. It is very dangerous that all people wear their own clothes, and I cannot recognize who are students and who are outsiders when I am walking in the schoolyard. I think wearing a uniform to school is the best way to show myself and promote school spirit. Uniform often has a schools symbol on it. A uniform can help me to have good first image and it shows school unity as well. Some people think that it will take away students' freedom of expression and encroach on their personal rights, but the advantages of wearing uniforms are much more than wearing casual clothes for students. Because of all the advantages of wearing uniforms to school, we can conclude that students must wear school uniforms to comply with the rules of school. It is similar to other occupations; polices have their own specific uniforms and

mailmen do, too. Students those who hate wearing uniforms must change their notion of wearing it now. They should wear uniforms all their educational years to school.
