Features
Stand alone NFC solution Interoperable with ISO 14443 A&B, ISO 15693, ISO 18092 Supports ETSI standards: SWP and HCI A full set of host interfaces and NFC device middleware for easy integration RF Bit rates of up to 424kbps Powerful router function Low-power Small footprint
microread is an innovative, next-generation RF chip that uses Near Field Communication (NFC) for proximity transactions and ation interactions. Incorporated into cell phones or consumer electronics devices, it enables them to operate like RF readers AND contactless smart cards to cover the large range of NFC applications, and much more.
Interoperable
Because it complies with the ISO 14443 A/B, ISO 15693, ISO 18092, ETSI specifications for NFC (SWP and HCI), microread enabled devices are compliant with the extensive installed base of contactless applications (tags and readers) worldwide.
Feature rich
microread embeds the most advanced feature set in a single NFC chip. By supporting ISO 14443, 15693 and 18092 microread makes NFC devices extremely versatile. This allows for an unmatched range of applications: Mobile payment, access control or ticketing, where a NFC-enabled device is presented to a reader Data capture and interactions, i.e. reading a smart tag on a poster for service discovery Peer-to-peer transactions between two NFC-enabled devices, i.e. downloading music, exchanging addresses Connectivity association (easier and secure pairing) between Bluetooth, Wi and UWB devices On top of the common NFC use cases, service providers can add, thanks to the ISO 15693 compatibility, a broad new set of applications (most corporate access control, parking access, logistic management, ).
Field-proven
In the fast-growing NFC market, microread emerges as a small footprint, low-cost, low-power, versatile solution. microread benets from three previous designs, making it a mature and optimized solution integrated in a large number of mobile handsets from Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors. A comprehensive set of host interfaces and a full offering of middleware for handsets radically ease NFC integration.
Applications
Peer-to-peer communication Card emulation Card reader Connectivity association All the large range of NFC use cases Plus all the ISO 15693-based applications
Flexible
Building up on ETSIs NFC-related standards such as SWP and HCI, microread routes applications wherever they reside in a device thus enabling different architecture congurations. It can, for example, act as a router and its powerful command set allows all elements of the chosen architecture to interact in a controlled manner (SIM, SE, SD card, Application Processor and NFC interfaces). This allows for implementation of various business models by mobile operators and third parties.
