Gods (Extended Metaphor) From the first mortal's steps, Earth slowly changed from the gods' pride

and joy to a disaster. They each came back to Olympus, to attend the Winter Solstice meeting. Slowly one by one they walked in and soon all twelve Olympians were in the throne room, once again filling the place with an aura that could not be achieved anywhere else. However some Gods felt that it was not a major issue. The three brothers Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were sitting on their specialized thrones in the front of the other Gods, scowling everywhere. None of the other Gods dared to speak in front of them. Silence was broken by the quiet yet blood-curdling whisper of Zeus, which signified the meeting had started. They debated whether or not to destroy what the human kind had ruined and create a whole new world. Athena and Artemis who both sought peace disagreed immediately but could not think of a better way to solve this grave matter. After days of arguments, a couple of thunderstorms, minor earthquakes and floods, their decision was unanimous; in which they decided to teach these mortals a lesson they would not forget. As she was the Goddess of wisdom, a plan assembled by Athena would never fail. Zeus planned a full out attack with his warriors of the sky. Poseidon acquired permission to lash out the deepest and darkest creatures of the sea. Artemis and Apollo got the arrows ready and the Sun God decided to drive his chariot away leaving the world in the touch of darkness. This was war, but a war with only one winner. A flare of golden light pierced into the sky, shredding the inky dark mess apart. A small jagged lightning bolt was raised. The phenomenal designs on it were evident as it shimmered in the dark night; each engraving was the sweat and tears of a Cyclops. Below the seas started to form into a cyclone and slowly a small figure materialized, rising up the eye. Three dotted specks became visible and there was Poseidons legendary trident raised above the God himself. Dazzling under the sun it reflected the sea gods omnipotence. Finally there was infamous one; there he stood slightly away from the others, Hades with the powers of the underworld stood there to help, for once and probably for all. At that moment there was nothing more powerful than the power that radiated from their bodies; they could have easily destroyed an entire universe. From above, you could see the elements of the world raging, though the naked eye of a mortal could not see any of the disastrous monsters of nature, waiting to be unleashed upon them. Zeus loyal sky warriors were about to unite with Poseidons most feared sea creatures for the first time in millions of years. The three brothers rivalries were put aside due to a common goal to make a better world. The warriors charged straight ahead as it received orders to demolish everything that stood in their way. Large claws of sea monsters clashed against its obstacles and tore down buildings as they swept its menacing claws effortlessly, swiping and smiting everything within its reach. Dark shadows rose from the ground as minions of the underworld were summoned by Hades to spread fear and chaos amongst all.

One swipe of Poseidons trident and the seas rose as one; with another swing the seas obeyed the command just like a well-trained dog. One overlapping the other the waves raided the city starting by the shores. Surfers tried at their best to fight all of them but got wiped out and soon will be served as the creatures first meal in a few thousand years. The wrath of Poseidons trident was not yet over, as it was spun around above his head a never before seen dragon formed underneath this indestructible God. Everything got sucked in as it flew across the different countries, monuments, structures and homes they all got trapped into the vortex of a savage mythical creature. As it decreased in altitude, the sea god called upon the powers of the earth and it rumbled with all its might to please its owner. In the seas Poseidon was teaching the lesson his way and high above thrusting his lightning bolt, Zeus woke up the frightful generals whose roars shook the skies that took down the planes that dared enter its domain. The engraved lightning bolt flared from the chest of millions of sky warriors; courageously they shot lightning spears into the seas causing even more damage than just the deep blue alone. The power emitted was so great that it caused an eruption from the middle of the sea. Disrupting and taking out thousands of towns, hundreds of cities and numerous countries. Everything might seem to have gone forever and the Gods might have possibly overdone it, but somewhere in the borders of Africa two small infants lived. Is this a miracle? Is it another chance the Gods are giving humanity? Yoki Li 10S
