This is going to be quite interesting. This is a new version of a language pattern that Ive been teaching lately. It deals with the theme of attraction. This is actually quite clever. Its for those of you who want to understand how patterns are constructed, especially the category of patterns that we think of as traditional patterns. Theyre the longer, memorized patterns where we talk about a subject and maybe get a little bit of input from the woman. Youll notice in this pattern that were using the contrast principle. This is something I first explained all the way back in the early 90s. When you construct a long-form pattern that consists of a lot of things that youre talking about, often its useful to contrast one thing with something thats either very different or similar to that first thing. Lets go ahead with this. Were going to definitely have to break this up into little sub-modules, but youre going to really enjoy it. Lets go with it.

Ross:
Its a different theme. Its attraction. Ill say, Ive often thought about this word attraction, Debbie. I think theres the kind of attraction where it really just means youre fascinated.
<end video> Ross: Theres one thing I just want to say. The way I bring this topic up is I say, Ive often thought about this idea of attraction. Thats not a bad way to bring up a topic. Lets say youre at a party or some other social setting. Another way you might bring up this topic is you could say, Do you know what I like to do at a setting like this? I like to observe that process of people when theyre starting to feel a strong attraction. Do you hear the command feel the strong attraction? Thats how I can introduce it. I can introduce it by saying, Based on where we find ourselves, I really like to notice that process where people start to feel a strong attraction and how thats taking place. <begin video> Ross: You look, and you just feel like this persons voice and face is all you can be absorbed in. Thats one kind of attraction, but its not something you feel really strongly all through your body. <end video> Ross: By the way, I would not walk up to someone and start with this. First I would get them laughing. I would play a few fun games with them. Id create some comfort, rapport and overall interest in talking to me before I slid in with a really strong topic like this. 2
<begin video> Ross: Then theres the kind of attraction where its not just about being absorbed. Its about feeling. People can have all sorts of good feelings, Debbie. I dont mean play with a puppy kind of feelings. I think attraction is really about feeling that flow of energy that lets you know theres something amazing right here in front of you. <end video> Ross: Notice this girl here. Even though she knows what Im doing and came to the seminar because she has read about me, shes having these responses. A little bit later shes going to talk about even though she knows what Im doing is still working on her. <begin video> Ross: Ill change the topic. Ill say, Anyway, when you were a little girl, was there some kind of candy that was the king in your candy castle? Why do I change the topic? I dont want her to think about it consciously. I want to suppress it so her unconscious is fighting with her conscious mind saying, No, think more about that. If youre not going to think about it consciously, Ill think about it. Do you get it? There are times in doing patterns when I want her to verbally respond. Other times I want to suppress it and change the topic really quickly. I forgot something in that pattern. I talk about, Theres the kind of attraction where its not really something you feel really strongly in your body. Its more like you feel pulled toward this person. Theres
something magnetic where you feel a connection and fascination. Then theres the kind of attraction where you feel it really strongly. Ill look right at her crotch. Its like those butterflies. If I go like this shell provide the word. Shell say, Yes, butterflies. Ill say, It doesnt matter whether you feel that spreading quickly or slowly, or whether it just happens so fast you know theres something you have to grab hold of tonight. I think whats really interesting is that first kind of attraction is just one or two doorways away from you experiencing this kind of attraction. When I say one or two doorways away, does that mean walking out the door of the restaurant and then walking into the door of my house, or does it mean doorways in the mind? The unconscious mind says both. When she opens the first door it triggers the suggestion. When she opens those second and third doors, it really triggers the suggestion. This is getting her ready to fuck you by linking all the thoughts and feelings to an action that youre going to take with her. Youre going to walk through doors. Its pretty fucking clever, isnt it? Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Rumble, young man, rumble. When I used to teach classic patterns, I taught the contrast principle. What you just heard is a classic memorized pattern as I defined it back in 1993. We liked to use contrast. I defined one kind of attraction and contrasted it with another kind.
The first piece of this is the introduction. You say, Debbie, have you ever thought about attraction? I was thinking about attraction the other day. The first piece is to introduce it. Do you want me to go through the language to introduce it? Participant: Ross: Yes. Debbie, the other day I was thinking about attraction. We want to bring it up in conversation. <end video> Ross: I would not make this the first thing you talk about. Its a heavy topic. You want to try some other formats of patterns, quizzes, games and that kind of stuff, before you go into something like this. <begin video> Ross: Im the greatest of all time. No one can judge me. Im the best. Im the greatest. My face is so pretty. <end video> Ross: I hope you pardon my Muhammad Ali imitations. He was one of my heroes. <begin video> Ross: By the way, you can get the footage when you upgrade. I was saying, The other day I was thinking about attraction. I think theres one kind of attraction. Then Im going to describe what that first kind of attraction is. <end video>

In that process of describing something is where we embed the commands.
<begin video> Ross: I think theres one kind of attraction where its not about you feel strong feelings in your body. <end video> Ross: Theres the command. Feel strong feelings in your body. Im leaning on it here so you can catch it. <begin video> Ross: Underline the words feel strong feelings in your body. Thats a command. Participant: Ross: Why doesnt their subconscious mind pick up the negation? Fuck that. What you heard about negation and unconscious not processing is bullshit. Participant: Ross: Ive never heard anything about it. Its not about you feel strong feelings in your body. Then Im going to describe what it is about. Im going to say, Its more about you feel a magnetic pull toward this person. You feel drawn in. You feel a tug. <end video> Ross: Here Im also introducing some metaphors. Women will often use this kind of language. Youll learn a lot about what women actually 6
respond by listening not to what they say they want but their metaphors. When they say, I just felt pulled or magnetized toward him, or I just felt a tug, this is not literal. Its a metaphorical description of whats going on. This is where you get real leverage into peoples worlds when you listen for this personal metaphor. In this first description, what Im doing is describing a kind of attraction women feel that doesnt include strong localized sexual feelings. It does not include pulsing in the vagina, rushes of heat through their breasts and their nipples stiffening. Its not strong sexual arousal, yet it is a form of attraction. Its very important that we understand attraction not as a label but as a set of experiences that have their own unique flows of energy and local intensities or global spread. It enables us to see and recognize things that to other people remain hidden. This is really crucial. By using womens own metaphors, it has a powerful sense of connection to them. Its as if were describing their own feelings and thinking. It not only is powerful for evoking those states, but it creates a sense that theyre feeling deeply understood. <begin video> Ross: You want more. You feel a tug. You feel pulled toward this person. <end video>
Ross:
Notice my gestures. My gestures are congruent with what Im describing. Im not saying you feel a tug and then making a gesture of pushing my hands away.
<begin video> Ross: <end video> Ross: Theres a little sexual metaphor. Something bigger to touch. Of course, Im pointing toward my genitals. Im doing it a lot less subtly here than I would do in the real world. These files are going to get huge to render. Lets break this up into another part. Because you know theres something bigger to touch.
