Electronic Loan Approval Process

Objective
A well established housing nance company wants to bring about dierentiation in their oering to manage competition. Aspects like customer service, relationship, turnaround time have become critical factors. Current IT based services are distributed, application of one branch moves physically to another location whenever required thereby adding delay to the entire processing. Data security, real time availability are some of the critical to success factors. The company is proposing an online loan processing solution to be developed following objectives. 1. Applications processing time is reduced signicantly. 2. Reduction in personal meetings. 3. Reduction in phone calls for status tracking. 4. Data is consolidated as the its on a central server and branches as well as external users access it from web. 5. Leverage MIS on processing times at various stages to improve further.

High Level Requirements


1. A web based application to submit a loan request online, e-mail communications to the applicant, Online status updates of the processing 2. Web application shall have a separate menu for the Loan Applicant and Company Sta. 3. The company has branches, the loan application should show up for company sta of the applicants location. 4. Users login using their email-id. 5. Maintain for processing e.g. Fresh Application, Ist Review with Loan Ocer, Status updated post Ist Review, Documents uploaded, Documents Validated, Documents Incomplete, Verication in Progress, In-Person meeting, 6. Maintain a check list master for the loan processing with validity period. This can be updated by company sta whenever required. 7. An upload feature on the loan application for attaching the documents as per the checklist. 8. The applicant should be able to view the progress on loan processing and add comments.

9. Use E-mail as mode of communication for important milestones in the processing cycle to ensure that applicant is posted on time about the progress. 10. MIS views and reports for loan branch.

Non Functional Requirements


1. Internet Explorer 7.0 above browser compatibility 2. Proper email-id/password based user authentication to allow access to the system. 3. Provide a role based access to the system. 4. Simple Design of User Interface and navigation keeping in mind system feedback in terms of alerts and messages during application events.

Technical Requirements
1. Create a detailed UML diagram (Component, Sequence, Class) for the OSMS and its subcomponents using RSA7.5. 2. Deploy the solution using Web-Sphere Application Server tool-kit which serves dual purpose i.e as an IDE as well as an application server. 3. DB2 Database
