PREFACE
We have great satisfaction in introducing this nationwide evaluation study of the Anti-Landmine Rover Project to all those who are engaged in the study of robotics. Prior to the launch of the project, a brain storming session was organized to discuss the use & future scope of this type of project. The format of the questionnaire was also discussed, broadly agreed and adopted. In many ways, it is one of those rare efforts which is marked by a complete understanding and harmony of purpose and objectives among all robots. The study, which has been conducted and completed within a record time of six months, is an excellent example of cooperative endeavor among a number of teachers and students of EN department. I am grateful to the evaluation team for this report presenting an assessment of the achievements as well as the constraints faced by the project.

ABSTRACT
The advance of science transformed mans outlook on life and had an impact on every branch of intellectual activity. Science explores the unknown world and makes life more interesting. It deals with the domain of positive knowledge in the field of nature and universe man and society. The project undertaken endeavours to make the life of soldiers even more safer. Earlier there was always a huge threat to the lives of soldiers whenever they were sent in the battlefields. But now with the advancement of science and technology the landmines can be easily detected. This project is a clear example of what man is capable of doing today. The anti-landmine rover can be operated in a wide radius of space and can easily detect landmines with the help of its mine detector circuitry. The alarm raised by the rover designates the presence of a landmine in the rovers way. Hence the armed forces are benefitted. Moreover the metal detection characteristics can be used in public places also to increase the level of social security.
