UBHL is the holding company of the UB group, which owns controlling stakes in
the group's companies like United Spirits (USL), United Breweries (UBL) and
Kingfisher Airlines (KFA).. Vijay Mallya-promoted United Breweries
(Holdings) has pledged nearly 86% of its shares in group company Mangalore
Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCFL). In October 2011
Now what I think is this:- The share prices of Mangalore chemicals are going
up to defreeze shares which were pledged or to take more cash loan against the
inflated pledged share and as UBHL is the promoter of of both Mangalore
chemicals and Kingfisher Airlines, the extra cash will be used to bail out airlines
business.
