VOLTAS, a member of the Tata group of companies is a multifaceted organization involved in engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing activities with several product lines pertaining to virtually every sphere of Indian industry, including the core sector. Realizing the importance of environment cleaning, Voltas entered the field of Pollution Control in the early 70s itself. The Water Management Business Division handles the Pollution Control Projects. The first efforts in the area of pollution control were in the area of air pollution abatement in technical collaboration with world-renowned Environment Company Research Cottrell Inc. of U.S.A. Subsequently in 1977 a collaboration agreement was entered into with Ames Crosta Babcock of U. K. foe wastewater treatment know how. ACB is well known as a leader in sewage and wastewater treatment for more than eight decades. The collaboration had run for ten years and the Division Acquired specialized capabilities in this filed through the execution of several major effluent treatment plants all over the country. Some of the plants like the one at South India Viscose, coimbotore, happen to be the first of their type in the country, both in the nature of effluent treated as well as the value of the job involved. The industrial wastewater treatment jobs executed span the whole spectrum of industrial activities like textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, sugar plants, refineries, sewage, engineering industry, etc. the Division manufactures virtually the full ranges of wastewater pollution control equipment starting from screens. The Aerators manufactured by Voltas have earned a special place in the Indian market as evidence by the fact that Voltas has sold more aerators (nearly 15000HP) than any of their competitors in India. Over the years, apart from acquiring specific know-how and expertise in the area of pollution control, the Division has built up total managerial capabilities to undertake turkey contract execution, with a fully fledged design wing and drawing office for preparation of detailed manufacturing drawing, modern project monitoring and scheduling systems, quality assurance and quality audit encompassing all manufacturing and field service activities. It is a large conglomerate of highly qualified engineers with specialized functional skills and managerial capabilities. The Division is thus geared up for timely and efficient for timely and efficient execution of any type of major project, which calls for skill in design, engineering, drawing preparation and turnkey project execution, including erection and commissioning. The Division operates on the basis of doing the basic design and detailed engineering in-house and getting all the required equipment manufactured through subcontracting. Through intensive efforts the Division has achieved total indigenization of all products and created a full complement of established vendors who manufacture all the required items in conformity with the strict quality control procedures laid down by the Division.

With headquarters at Mumbai and four main regional set up Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai, in addition to several branch/ area offices, Voltas has a wide network of offices all over India with ability to reach out to customers at any place in the shortest time frame.
