operating instructions for fans

Contents: I. Description II. Installation III. Working conditions IV. Storage V. Maintenance VI. Warranty VII. Recommendations for making electrical panel for ventilation
The passport is valid for the following series of fans:

Centrifugal fans

In-line fans

Domestic fans

Axial fans

Roof fans

Ventilation boxes

I. Description
The fan is used for air distribution but transportation of flammable gases (except for Ex versions), explosives, dust etc. The fan can be installed outside or in wet conditions corresponding with the IP class indicated on the name-plate of the motor. In this case drainage must be provided. All fans are according to the Standard single-phase 230V, 50Hz or three-phase 400V, 50Hz. The fan can be mounted in vertical (not for roof fans) or horizontal position.

II. Installation
To connect power supply see the wiring diagram in the box of the motor or the attached technical data. The fan must be connected to a duct or defending grille must be provided. The fan must be mounted in a safe way so there must be no vibrations or danger of falling. The fan must be installed in way that provides easy maintenance. Transformer, electronic or frequency regulator of rotation speed of the fan can be installed only if it is indicated in manufacturers instructions. Wiring diagram is attached inside the cover of the electrical box. Electrical connections must be made by qualified electrician.

III. Working conditions

Before starting be sure that: the fan is installed and connected in proper way with installed and adjusted electrical protection (for models without built-in protection); working current does not exceed the value indicated on name-plate; there are no foreign bodies and no noise can be heard when it starts working; rotation direction of three phase motors is as shown.

IV. Storage
The fan must be stored in its packing until installation. This prevents transportation damages, scratches and pollutions of the fan.

V. Maintenance
Before service, maintenance or repair of the fan power-supply must be shut-off and the turbine must have stop rotating. Pay attention for the weight of the fan when moving it to avoid damages or injuries. The fan must be cleaned when necessary but at least once a year to keep the designed flow rate and to avoid unbalancing which can cause unwanted bearing damages. Bearings of the fan do not need special care. Do not use strong dissolving agents or apply pressure when cleaning the fan. Be sure there is no noise in the motor. Be sure the condenser is connected correctly (only for single-phase fans). If the fan does not work first change the condenser (only for single-phase fans).

If the fan is still not working after all listed above actions call the service. Before sending back a fan to the supplier it must be cleaned, the cable must not be injured and detailed failure-report must be attached.

VI. Warranty
Warranty is valid if warranty-card is present and installed external electrical protection for models without built-in protection (see wiring diagram). To connect power supply see the wiring diagram in the box of the motor or the attached technical data.

VII. Recommendations for making electrical panel for ventilation

The fans must have motor protection considered with voltage and nominal current. Overheating thermostats of the fans (for models with built-in thermostats) must be connected to contactors control circuits. Overheating thermostats of in-line electric heaters must be connected to contactors control circuits. All fans and heaters must be connected by qualified electrician observing attached wiring diagrams and voltage. All stages of the heaters must be provided with overload protection depending on their power. A fan heater interlock must be provided in order to prevent heater working without working of the relevant fan.
