Clements High School Exemption Information Spring 2012

STUDENT INFORMATION 9th Grade Students are expected to attend all classes on exam days. 10th Grade Students are expected to attend all classes regardless of their exemption status. Failure to attend class will be coded as an absence and will result in a zero for the exam grade. 11th and 12th Grade - Students who are exempt MUST sign the Exemption Sheet each day of finals. Please see the schedule below with information for each day. Parking permits are required each day (all regular rules apply). *All students must attend regular class periods that are scheduled on May 29 and May 30. *Students must remain on campus during any assigned classes. The ONLY way a student can leave is if a parent comes into the school and checks them out, through the attendance office. This applies to all students.

Exam 6th Period Exam

Students exempt from period exam will leave school at 12:30. Please report to the Commons at 12:30 to sign the Exemption Sheet before leaving. Students with off campus 6th period do not need to sign out. Students exempt from 2nd and 4th must report to the Commons at 9:00 to sign the Exemption Sheet. Exempt students may leave after signing in. JUNIORS who are exempt from 3rd and 5th must report to the Girls Gym at 8:30 to sign the Exemption Sheet. After announcements, students will be dismissed. SENIORS who are exempt from 3rd and 5th must report to the Auditorium at 8:30 for a mandatory graduation information assembly. Students will also pick up their cap and gown. The Exemption Sheet will be signed upon entering the auditorium. Seniors who are taking finals during 3rd and/or 5th should report to the auditorium after their final exam(s) to pick up graduation information and cap/gown. JUNIORS who are exempt should report to the Girls Gym at 8:30 to sign the Exemption sheet. After announcements, students will be dismissed. SENIORS who are exempt should report to the Auditorium at 8:30 to sign the Exemption sheet. After announcements, students will be dismissed.

Frequently Asked Questions


Question 1: If a 9th or 10th grader is not present for their exempted exam, do they lose their exemptions? Answer: Yes, absent student will lose their exemptions. Question 2: If a student has a study hall, athletics, or fine arts can they bring a note and leave? Answer: NO! Students must remain on campus during any assigned classes. The ONLY way a student can leave is if a parent comes into the school and checks them out, through the attendance office. This applies to all students. Question 3: Are exempt Juniors and Seniors required to attend school during a final exam period if they are exempt? Answer: Junior and Seniors who are exempt must report to the locations below at 8:30AM to sign the Exemption Sheet in order to finalize their exemptions. Answer: Yes, all students must attend regular class periods that are scheduled on May 27 and May 31. Question 5: Are Homebound students eligible for exemptions? Answer: Yes, if they meet the grade requirement and the TAKS requirement, they are eligible. Question 6: Are Special Education students that take TAKS-M eligible for exemption? Answer: Yes, any special education student taking an alternate form of state testing that meets the attendance, discipline, and grade requirements, is eligible for exemptions.
