Concerto For

Solo Piano
In Eighteen Parts
Matthew Lee Knowles
May 2012

PERFORMANCE NOTE
An assistant should conceal themselves underneath the piano,
with access to the pedals and the pianist's leg. This person is
utterly free, if they so choose, to control the pedals regardless
of the effect on the music, or the will of the pianist. After each
section of the music, the assistant will forcefully hit the pianist's
leg, indicating that they should continue. This gap may be
between five and five hundred seconds. This sets a minimum
duration for the piece of around seven minutes and an upper
duration of two hours and thirty minutes.
