CODE OF CONDUCT & LEARNING HABITS FOR STUDENTS EVERYWHERE (DOs & DONTs)

1. Wake up early in the morning, preferably 5AM, even in winter, and on holidays. Go
to bed early, and not later than 10 PM, anyway. I go to bed at 8/8.30 PM to wake up at 4 AM every day.

2. Punctuality can take you ahead of your peers. PROCRASTINATION, SELF CRITICISM
OR DESTRUCTIVE CRITICISM FROM OTHERS HINDER PROGRESS & CREATIVITY. 3. Prepare a Time Schedule and follow it. achievement. Time management is pivotal for

4. Have a strong aim, desire, and purpose for your life. There is no electric lift to
Mt.Everest.

5. Work hard, you will be benefitted; work hardly, you will be barefooted. 6. Be self confident in everything you do.
Success often comes to those who dare and act; but it seldom goes to the timid. Jawaharlal Nehru.

7. Never take counsel from lazybones. Tell them: Your freedom stops where my
nose begins.

8. Keep your study tidy and neat for others as an example. Keep away all distracting
materials.

9. Achievement begins in solitude; Character formation takes place in solitude. 10. Never break your Quiet Time with your Lord God in the morning and evening. 11. Study a paragraph of the Scriptures every day and memorize a few verses. 12. Guard your health at all circumstances (I Tim.4:8 gnb). Eat good food, not junk. Do
physical exercises.

13. Love your books, love your teachers. Dont try to imitate anyone, but God
(Eph.5:1).

14. Concentrate in whatever work you do. Do not be distracted, while listening,
thinking, reading, speaking or writing. If other thoughts strike your mind, note them down to deal, at another time.

15. Do advance reading on the topic/lessons you are going to study. Casually finish
up reading all your texts for the new year, as soon as you buy them, during summer holidays.

16. Complete a days work that very day. Sufficient unto the day the evil thereof
(Mt.6:34).

17. Be very attentive in class, whoever your teacher/ lecturer/ facilitator, and whatever
the subject be.

18. Do not discuss teachers critically, with friends, within or without the class.
them in person.

Talk to

19. You forget 50% of all you hear and learn, in 20 minutes; 66% in 1 day; 75% in 1
week; and 80 % in 1 month. So revise constantly, to keep in touch. Make synopsis on all you do.

20. Write and learn; illustrate your lessons with figures and drawings or caricatures;
compare your lecture notes with text books; discuss topics with bright students and teachers. Try innovation.

21. Keep companionship with the teaching staff more than your peers. Respect them
always. 22. Never feel disheartened about what you do not have. Thank God for whatever you have.

23. Never compare yourself with others. Everyone is created unique. 24. Keep a written list of your possessions to keep account. Also keep an account of
money spent.

25. Write your diary every night, however small that be. Someday you can publish a
book with it.

26. Never discuss Religion, Politics or Sex with colleagues and friends at your work
place.

27. Do not succumb to infatuation or homesickness. Be strong in Spirit. Do not try to

supplement or confuse family love with erotic love. Phileo (friendly love) might lead you to eros (emotional love). Where you miss Storgei (family love), supplement it with Agape, (the unconditional love of God), of which when you minister to others, it will compensate for all the other love. So, create a milieu where people can approach you to listen to the love of God which is the ultimate love.

28. Avoid bars. Never step in, even for company sake, coz, drunkards never enter into
the kingdom of heaven however mild the drinking be. A taste will drag you into it for ever. A peg> a mug> a jug.

29. Smoking in any form, and drugs will kill your body, mind and spirit.

No use experimenting and later trying to revert. Nicotine and the drug poison can never be cleansed off the bloodstream even by medicine, once it has gone in, in any mild form.

30. Do not lend, nor borrow money or articles, as far as possible. 31. Finally, seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and All these
things shall be added unto you (Mt.6:33) - your food, your attire, and stay.
