CONSECRATING AND EMPOWERING THE SCRYING MIRROR

Using the Dark Moon. ( A Call to the Ancient Ancestors )

PURPOSE: This is a Dark Moon Ritual for Consecrating and Empowering ( Charging ) their newly-made Scrying Mirrors ( from class ) and to recharge mirrors that other attendees may have brought with them. This is also where one can do a viewing after charging his/her mirror. MATERIALS:

A Black Scrying Mirror ( possibly the one that was finished from the previous class-segments ), A Black Veil or any suitable black cloth, Dark Moon Incense, A dish of Sea Salt, A dish of pure Water, A Purple Candle inscribed with the waning moon crescent symbol, Four White Votive Candles, Wisdom Oil, Purple Altar cloth, One of each stone: Amethyst, Tigerseye, Athame or other Sacred Blade.

ALTAR SETUP AND PREPARATION: With the altar oriented North; A space at the center of the altar should be freed for the scrying mirrors that will be placed there for the consecrations. The Purple Candle needs to be placed several inches behind the mirror(s). The four White Candles should be placed in the four Quarters regions of the altar ( or room if there is adequate space ). Anoint the Purple Candle with the Wisdom Oil, and cleanse the Water with a few grains of Sea Salt. CIRCLE CASTING ( Using the Athame or other suitable blade ):

I cast this circle, wide and round, that it contain our power, for this work. Be it a barrier, to all things without, that which hinders, obstructs, distracts us, and favors us not! Be it as a bridge, among all the worlds, as we stand on the edge, of all of them the same! I seal this space, in the names of the Divine, both Gods and Goddesses, in your presence we stand! So be it!
CLEANSING AND PURIFYING THE SPACE ( Wafting the Incense ):

I cleanse this space, of all negativity, of all illness, of all harm and distractions! I do so, in the names of the Divine; the Gods and the Goddesses, so that by only our Will, in concert with yours, shall it be done! So be it!
CONSECRATING AND DEDICATING THE SPACE ( Asperging with the consecrated water ):

I consecrate and dedicate, this time and space, in the names of the Divine; all Gods and Goddesses, so that it serves us all, for our intents! Be this space prepared, and secured by your blessings, shall it be readied, for the work we are about embark! We open the way, to the gateways of the Wisdom, of our Ancestors! So be it!

CONSECRATING AND EMPOWERING THE MIRRORS ( ACTIVATION OF THE MIRRORS ):

Remove the veil(s) from the mirror(s), Light the Dark Moon Incense ( or whatever Incense has been chosen for this ritual ), Then light the Purple Candle, Consecrate the mirror(s) by touching the Salt and Water to the scrying surface(s), Then pass the mirror(s) over the Purple Candle's flame in three widdershins circles above, Then pass the mirror(s) over the Dark Moon Incense through the smoke in three widdershins circles, Lay the mirror(s) flat on the altar, scrying surface(s) facing up, in preparation for the next major step.

Meditation of focus in preparation for doing readings: With your hands stretched out over the surface, imagine drawing down the Dark Moon's energy through your third eye, down through your arms and into your hands. Imagine the moon's energy flowing into your mirror from your hands. As you breath in, you bring in more lunar energy; as you breath out, you let flow that lunar energy into your mirror. Do this for several minutes until you feel that your mirror has taken in all the moon's energy that it can hold. For those who wish to lock their mirrors to their own use only: If anyone wishes to limit who can use their mirror, more preferably YOU, then here is a good time to think of a secret word, phrase, name, or even a special glyph or symbol to key your mirror with. Once you have decided which you are going to use, as you breath in, quietly resonate that secret within your being. When you exhale, breath that secret key into your mirror. Do this at least three times using your psychic energy to communicate it to your mirror. This should a secret key that NO other will know. It doesn't have to be spoken aloud at all, just mentally-focused towards your mirror. Finalizing the Consecration and Empowerment ( or Activation ): When everyone is ready for the next step, while they still have their hands over their mirrors:

Extinguish the East Candle while saying aloud:

Extinguish the South Candle while saying aloud:

The Power to Surrender! 3.

Extinguish the West Candle while saying aloud:

The Power to Accept! 4.

Extinguish the North Candle while saying aloud:

The Power to Resonate! 5.

Finally, anoint the four corners and the center of the mirror with the Wisdom Oil while chanting:

Visions of the Ancient Mother, And of the Ancient Father, Let fall the Deep Purple Veil, Of the Priestess and the Priest! Let my visions be true, Let mine eyes see clearly, Into the Darkness of Mysteries, That all things in due time, Shall be revealed to me! By the Will of the Divine, Blessed Be!

Abzu, Dear Lord, Ti'amat, Dear Lady, Let us see all things, As be seen by Thine own eyes! Let us be clear of vision! Let us be free of fear! Let us be knowing, Without illusion and ego! For at this moment, And in this place, Be as our guides, To those things we face! Of these things we ask Thee, In Truth and in Grace! Blessed Be!
( A short discussion on how to scry may be in order if there are some participants who are unsure, or need a refresher. ) CLOSE THE VIEWING WINDOW(S) OR GATEWAY(S) - ( COVER THE MIRRORS WITH THE VEILS ):
