Intro: This should set the scene. The location will be described, as well as a rough outline of what will be contained in the business plan. Students can select any part of the world, provided no team member comes from that country. This section should include a justification for the choice of location, concept, target market and star rating. Type of hotel Business/Leisure/MICE; Number of stars with justification Short marketing plan including 6 to 8 Ps Means of differentiating from competition e.g. price/ quality Estimated sales with justification Estimated time to profitability (3-4 years?) Content Guidelines This should set the scene. The location will be described, as well as a rough outline of what will be contained in the business plan. This section should include a justification for the choice of location, concept, target market and star rating. This should include a marketing plan with at least 6 of the 8Ps. Perhaps People will figure in the HR section. A discussion of how HR concerns such as recruitment, selection, induction, training and motivation will be dealt with here, as well as the implications of star rating for e.g. payroll and the training budget. Relevant legal matters e.g. licensing, agreements, incorporation, employment law, real estate, insurance. Opening and closing balance sheets, operating and cash budgets, and selected relevant ratios. This should contain a summary of the salient points in the business plan, together with good reasons as to why the project will be a success Quality and consistency of writing and consistent use of the Harvard referencing method How does the plan hang together as a whole? Is it consistent and persuasive?
