    Verbs! Many ACCA examiners comment on the number of students who fail to answer the actual question set.

    This can be because of exam stress/panic. However, it has apparent there is a lack of knowledge from some students on key verbs which are frequently used in ACCA exams. When you are revising for your exams make sure you brush up on the definition of the following verbs. Analyse - Give reasons for the situation. Assess - Determine the significance/importance. Contrast - Explain two different positions, highlighting differnces between them. Define - Give the meaning off. Describe - Give the key features. Explain -Make clear. Explore - Examine or discuss in a wide-ranging manner. Evaluate - Determine the value in the light of the arguments for and against. Identify - Recognise. Recommend - Advise the appropriate actions to pursue.
