For the second year in a row, visitors to downtown Luling experienced a taste of Louisiana during the Annual Luling Main Street Rajun Cajun Throwdown Gumbo Cook-off, March 10. The weather was rainy and cold, but that didnt stop 24 teams from setting up camp and competing in the cook-off. Some traveled from as far as Baton Rouge, La. to try their luck in winning a cash prize and a coveted Voo Doo doll trophy. Their teamwork, enthusiasm and culinary efforts were appreciated by everyone in attendance. From gumbo to gator, bread pudding to fried oysters, there was something for everyone to sample.
