Like anything strangeand unusual, it is sensationalized and vilif ied. It hasoften been reduced to a religion for thugs, drug dealersand prostitutes - which is the furthest thing from thetruth. Santa Muerte does not discriminate, therefore she represents a symbol of hope to people of all walksof life. Santa Muerte Shrines/Altars When setting up an altar for her, it must be made of a natural base such as wood, clay, or stone and thetable cloth must be cotton. The remaining embellishments are based on what you seek from her protection.The day of set up should be completely dedicated to her, and there are specific prayers to be said, andofferings to be made.
