The Very Hungry Caterpillar By Eric Carle A Butterfly laid a tiny egg on a leaf. A tiny and very hungry caterpillar came out of that egg. The caterpillar ate an apple on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, four strawberries on Thursday, and five oranges on Friday but he was still hungry. On Saturday, he ate many kinds of food including a piece of cake, lollipop, ice cream cone, and a slice of watermelon. As a result, he had a stomach ache. He felt better when he ate a leaf on Sunday.
