BENTLEY COMMUNICATIONS PRODUCTS

Following are the software solutions that Bentley provides to the communications industry.

1. Bentley Coax V8i:

Design and Management of Coax Networks Bentley Coax is a robust RF design engineering product that creates an intelligent coax network model during the design process. Bentley Coax works with Bentley Fiber and Bentley Inside Plant to create an end-toend network model, allowing an HFC network to be analyzed at any level and ensuring accurate network documentation. It will interactively calculate the optimum design while placing equipment and cables for new, upgrade, and/or rebuild network designs. The engineering calculations are based on configurable equipment specifications. Bentley Coax maintains network and design connectivity as devices are inserted, removed, or changed. The designer is prompted to reconnect the network when appropriate and can choose to automatically perform a recalculation of the design, either for the active route or globally. This guarantees the design is always within specification. A variety of detailed engineering reports can be generated to support the design including bills of material. After the design has been completed, Bentley Coax allows designers to power the plant. Powering is based on user defined boundaries and shapes that define the area to be powered. When powering equipment is added to the design, Bentley Coax will trace the network, calculating the current draw and voltage requirements. Detailed

An built in library of standard bracing patterns with facilities to create userdefined ones provides smooth automatic generation of analytical structures for any user defined physical model and increases productivity by providing a library of reusable bracing patterns. Extensive parametric editing facilities to incorporate changes in a towers overall shape and slope, panel dimensions, and panel face configurations increases productivity by providing continuous change management. Intuitive physical member creation with appropriate orientation saves time on overall member creation. Easy to use drag and drop features for inserting components from a built in database like dish antennas, appurtenances, and platforms with facilities to adjust mounting pattern, location, tilt, and azimuth angles enhances overall profitability by letting you use and maintain component catalogs. Automatic generation of wind, ice, and seismic load cases for tower structures and external attachments as per TIA-222-F and TIA-222-G standards saves time and allows investigation of whatif scenarios. Linear static analysis and second-order analysis saves time and allows investigation of whatif scenarios. Post-processing features including joint displacements, member forces, stresses, support reactions, leg compression, deflection, tilt, and twist results in terms of diagrams and tables enable you to have detailed insight of the analysis results and help to plot multiple post-processing diagrams for a selective set of physical members for complex structures. Design of physical members as per TIA-222-F and TIA-222-G standards reduces errors due to complex calculations. A customizable, user-friendly, exhaustive report generation facility to create all exhaustive, complete reports straight from the software avoids manual report compilation activities and establishes dynamic update links and saves time in regenerating the desired report. Bi-directional interoperability with other STAAD products avoids duplication of efforts in case you need to transfer the model to other products. This saves time in generating a composite structure that involves both STAAD.FEM and STAAD.Tower.

COMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY IN INDIA

India possesses a diversified communications system that links all parts of the country by Internet, telephone, telegraph, radio, and television. Most of the telecommunications forms are as prevalent or as advanced as those in modern Western countries, and the system includes some of the most sophisticated technology in the world and constitutes a foundation for further development of a modern network. India has the world's second-largest mobile phone users with over 903 million as of January 2012. It has the world's third-largest Internet users with over 121 million as of December 2011. India has become the world's most competitive and one of the fastest growing telecom markets. The communications industry is expected to reach a size of INR 344,921 crore (US$68.81 billion) by 2012 at a growth rate of over 26 per cent. The total revenue of the Indian telecom sector grew by 7% to INR 283,207 crore (US$56.5 billion) for 201011 financial year, while revenues from telecom equipment segment stood at INR117,039 crore (US$23.35 billion). Communication technology penetration in India is happening very fast causing a big need for communications infrastructure and solutions for the same. Though mobile communications is a major growth factor, a significant number of communications technologies still use cable networks. But it seems in future wireless will have major contribution in communications technology and so Bentley should focus on providing solutions to wireless communications systems. The probable clients mentioned in the document can be contacted and can be offered the Bentley communications solutions.
