1)What is courtship?

Courtship is young men and women seeking each other for the purpose of finding a spouse. It is a sexually abstinent friendship that through the courting process bonds two people together while they both grow and learn to honor, respect, and love each other.
Stages of courtship:
MUTUAL INTEREST An informal time of evaluation and prayer on the part of the young man and his parents, and the young lady and her parents, to determine if entering into a time of committed courtship is best for both young people at this time. COURTSHIP Courtship is a process by which a mature young man or young lady, along with their parents, seek to discern their God-given life partner. It involves the parents or authorities on both sides and yet allows for feelings and discernment from both of the young people involved. ENGAGEMENT The final stage before marriage, where the hearts and lives of the young people become more firmly bonded together.

2)importance of courtship?
Courtships is dating but more formal, even thou there are still no rules. Basically you are getting to know a person in a series of dates (offical), without the offical label of boyfriend/girlfriend. basically the best example of this is for our time period would be the movie "40 year old virgin." Courting is a lost art, that should be used more often.

3)what is marriage?
Marriage understood as the conjugal union of husband and wife really serves the good of children, the good of spouses, and the common good of society. The arguments against this view fail while the arguments for it succeed.

Essential reasons of courtship as a requirements for marriage?


1)It helps couples know each other better 2) It allows couples to decide whether they want to be committed 3) It allows couples to know if they are ready to be committed 4) It develops security

4)what are the function of marriage?


Modern marriages, or "love unions" have the following features: 1. There is no commitment to stay longer than than you want. 2. You enter into it in order to make yourself happy. 3. Its purpose is to celebrate the love of the couple. 4. It is only the business of the couple involved, society has no interest is seeing it succeed or fail. Marriage on the other hand: 1. Lasts until your obligation to your spouse and children ends. 2. You enter into it for the benefit of the children you will have. 3. Its purpose is to make sure the children who will result are supported and raised successfully. 4. Society has an interest in making sure marriages succeed because of the negative consequences of having many troubled children.

5)what is family?
Family is the basic social unit. Family represents people living together by ties of marriage, blood or adaptation, thus representing a single household. According to sociology, the family has the primary function of reproducing society; biologically, socially, or both. There are various structures of a family based on the relationship shared between the parent and the children. The different types of family are patrifocal, where the family consists of a father and his child; matrifocal, where the family consists of a mother and her child. Consanguineal family is one which consists of the mother, the child and other people, mainly belonging to the family of the mother. The conjugal family consists of one or more mothers and their children, with other people and one or more spouses.

6_identify what is polygamy and monogamy? Polygamy: The condition or practice of having more than one spouse at one time. Also called plural
marriage. Monogamy: Monogamy is being faithful to one person sexually. Monogamy is uncommon in

the animal world, except in animals (like humans) that require both parents help in order to successfully raise their young.
