First of all, we thank Do.Dr.Rfat EDZKAN for giving this Project which is so useful for us.Also Ahmet enol KOYUNCU, our project asssistant is much responsible for helping us during the project process. He always answered all our questions patiently and tried to teach us whatever we want to learn.Hence,we are all greatefull to you in this project.

Abstract
In the Project, Automated Room Light Controller, our aim was to desing a system that counts number of people whose entering to and outgoing from room.In addition system switch on yellow, red, blue and green leds by number of people at room. When we had problems, we took our project assistants advices. We used 74192 counter ,7447 decoder for display and some other logic gates. After completed circuit we succeeded.

1.Introduction
The objective of our project called "Automated room light controller " is to display the the number of the people inside in acoordance with the incoming and outgoing actions through the doors. Meanwhile, related leds will be switched on according to the number of the people inside. And locked buttons when number reached maximum or minumum value.

2.System Design
We principally began our project preparing an operation schema

Leds Two pull up circuits composing of 330ohm resistance and buttons are used for the back and forward operations to represent the sensors. When the buttons are not held down logic 1 (+5v) gets to the counter. Furthermore, a pull up circuits composing of 330ohm resistance and buttons are set to reset the occasions. 74192 was used as the counter. the up and down inputs of 74192 are triggered with the rising edge. So, when the buttons in pull down circuits are held down and left , the counter will be triggered and the output will rise and decrease suddenly for the logic 1 will go up to logic 2. Data input is cancelled by making the the load inputs of 74192 passive.

7447 was used as the encoder. 7447 integrated circuit carries out the decoding process by turning BCD code coming from the counter into the 7bit code which can be percieved by 7segment display on the output of 7447
Figure 2. 7447 BCD to 7Segment Decoder with 7Segment Display

7 Outputs of the 7447 decoder are connected to the 7-inputs of 7segment display. Led of DOT is left unconnected . Other two legs of display are connected to a common anode The leds to switch on are grouped according to the number of people; the green led for 0-5, the

blue one for 6-8 and the red one for 9 people. The yellow led will be kept on when anybody is in the room. It is completed by using the target doors , forming and simplifying the appropriate functions in that way.Functions for leds :

RED F = D(BC)

GREEN F = AD

Yellow F = ABCD

Blue F = (BC) + (DA)

The last thing about our prosess , we made locked buttons when it reached maximum or minumun number like 9 and 0. So after 74192 count 9 , up button does not work. Display does not go to zero after nine . The opposite situation is working for down button.

3.Result and Conclusion

Our project works in the curcuit set both on the breadboard and computer simulation (PROTEUS ISIS) smoothly. It has worked on both integrated circuits, displays and leds without any problem. The number of people has been monitored on display according to the signals recieved from the buttons. However some bouncing problems in counting in the up/down and reset buttons connected to the counter have been observed. To prevent the same problem in similar projects, setting a capacitor on buttons or using a debouncing switch has been advised.
