The basic of the Laser Mod includes three types of blocks:

Use the laser mod to defense your house, as a light source, or for a mob-trap and much more!

The ruby

All blocks are based on the ruby now. You can craft it with glass and redstone:

For the next version it is planned that the ruby arises in the environment.

The Laser
The laser is a block, which shoot a laser-beam, when you activate it.

The default laser-beam is white, very small and interruptible. You can use this fo a mob-detector/light barrier. You can improve the laser with a lens, to add a function. You can put other blocks on it while sneaking. Recipe:

The Laser Reflector

The peculiarity of the reflector is that the laser goes through and comes out were it points. So you can pass on the laser-beam. The redirected beam has the same properties like the source. You can mix diffrent laser beams and you can also put a lens on it. Recipe:

The Laser Sensor

The Laser Sensor is a block, which provide power, while touching the laser-beam. Use it for pass on signales over a long distance.

Recipe:

The Lens
Use the lens to change the color of the laser-beam and also the function, the properties, all in all the whole behavior of the beam. You can craft a lens via the "lens bench". Spoiler

The first step is to click on the new lens bench and and put a glass-block in the middle.

Specialize your lens: For making a edge, put one of these solid blocks into the highest slot.

Planks Stone Cobblestone Bricks Stone bricks Iron Gold Diamond Sandstone Wood

This is only for aesthetics. You can also make frameless lenses, but you need the drill to use them.

To change further poperties, you can put further items into the function slots. Is it possible to change following properties:
-the range -the power -the color -the transparency

And advanced it with a Enderpearl. To change the color, put one dye in one of the other slots. (function slots) Each color changes the function of the laser.

COLORS

White ?The detector beam. The beam is interruptible.

Power 1-3: Blocked by items, mobs, and player. Power 4-6: Blocked by mobs and players.

Power 7-9: Blocked by player only.

Red The heat beam. Deals damage, sets the world on fire, destroys blocks.

Power: Each level improves the damage per second, the change to set an entity on fire and the beam can dig through harder blocks. Maximum damage: 30 hearts per second! Advanced: Prevents beam from destruction of items.

Green The nature beam. Speeds up plant grow rate. If user cuts the tree segment which is under the effect of an advanced green beam, the whole tree will fall. This will allow for automatic tree farms.

Higher Power: Speeds up plant grow rate. Advanced: Tree-cutting mechanism avaible.

Blue The slow down beam. Slows down mobs on horizontal plane (e.g. they move slower, but jump as usual).

Power n: Slows down target to n*10%. Advanced: Slows down by vertical axis.

Yellow The light beam. Has increased light level.

Power n: 4+n Lightlevel Advancded: The beam passes through solid blocks as if there wasn't any.

Cyan The tractor beam. The beam pushes entities. All sorts of farming machines as well as laser elevators are possible with this beam.

Power n: Pulls stuff with acceleration 0.4*n m/s. Advanced: Pushes instead. If the beam is horizontal, it also pushes entities top with same acceleration.

Purple The hybrid of red and blue.

POWER

Increase the power, to improves the properties of the laser-beam. Each level also increases the size of the beam. The maximum Power is +9.

RANGE

A default beam has the range of 10 meters. Improve the range, when needed. Or worsen the range. Each reflector reduce the range by 20%.

TRANSPARENCY

Use Blaze Powder to make your laser-beam more transparent, or even complete invisible. Blaze powder's effect is reverse-propotional to beam power. It's only possible to make a laser with power 1 completely invisible. Example photos for a lens-crafting-recipe:

The Drill
You can use the drill to bore more inputs/outputs into a laser device. Recipe:

You can choose between one of these blocks for the case:
-Stone -Cobblestone -Mossy cobblestone -Bricks -Stone bricks -Planks -Netherrack -Sandstone -Bookshelf -Lazuli block -Iron block -Gold block -Diamond block

With the drill in your hand make a right-click on your chosen block and a gui will pop up. You can put a glass-blocks or a frameless lenses into the slots. Ruby must be present in player's inventory and will be automatically consumed. Each slot stands for one side of the block. The glass-block will add a further input, the lenses a further output.

Use the template for examples of possible constructions. (You can craft a frameless lenses like a normal one, read the lens-topic for further infos). Now you made a custom laser-deviece! To harvest such device, use a tool you would usually use for its material block.

The handheld laser beam sensor

You build complicated laser-systems and your are unsure which properties what kind of properties your beams have? Craft the "handheld laser beam sensor" to understand better the operation of the laserbeams. Recipe:

Click with right-click on any laser device and it will show you the beam-properties.

The tube and the panel

Use the lasers to make colorful displays, or color-signals. Recipe:

When a tube collides with a laser-beam, it will change the color of the connected panels into the beam color. Panels light level depends on light level of powering beam.
