- brought charges of sexual misconduct against Clarence Thomas - became a very polarizing figure as a result

- A Supreme Court justice - appointed by President George H. W. Bush in 1991 - whose confirmation became controversial due to allegations of sexual misconduct made against him -never asks a question in Court

- A Baptist minister and civil rights leader - directed national antidiscrimination efforts in the mid-1960s and 1970s - His concern for the oppressed & dramatic oratory attracted a large grassroots constituency. -preacher -for equality between races

- American business executive & political leader - national attention during the Iran hostage crisis (1979) - funded an operation that rescued two of his employees from an Iranian prison - In 1992, he emerged as an independent candidate for president - expressing serious concern over the national debt - Creator of Reform Party

- Political party founded in 1995 - by H. Ross Perot - an alternative to the Democratic and Republican parties - wanted reform
