Yookoso!

Recent riots in the UK reminded us the simplicities of life: Destroy things, take drugs, and ignore rules; piece of cake. Build things, avoid drugs, and follow the rules even when nobody is to supervise; damn difficult. And surely my two readers can identify yet two similarities among rioters: they are young, stupid, and confused. Fine, that was three similarities. But still on target. Obviously the riots in the UK and those in the 90s in California (USA) are similar. The rioters, many were kids of 12 to 15, care not about what they do, and the media fuelled unrest by reporting the truth. And the truth, for the media gurus, was confined to cliches of which onlookers may choose the recurrent: - Rioters are ignorant young lads who deserve la Guillotine. - Rioters are stupid Niggers a disgrace to the Black community. - Rioters are low class fellows confused and oppressed by the rich and powerful. But what about the other truth: Rioters are the sons and daughters of a bunch of ignorants (regardless of school credentials), colourless (regardless of colour), and low class (regardless of income) fools that failed to educate their potential-rioter sons or daughters before they became a problem for society. From this perspective, there is more we adults should do to prevent riots. Discipline. Wouldnt you agree? Fathers, mothers, and the society should stop asking why some of the citizens are willing to loathe, destroy, and be jerks. It is so simple that it is so difficult. Rioters are a bunch of losers, good-for-nothing, and burglars that started rioting at elementary grade, when parents failed to guide, discipline, and punish them. Ouch! Punish I forgot that is a political incorrect word. Sorry! My fault! Please let us be honest, as a society we are partly responsible for any riot. Those kids, black, white, yellow, pink, or whatever; are hopelessly lost. And we have everything backwards. We blame the police for slow response, the politicians for narrow minds, the religion for the lack of understanding. We blame technology for its excessive violence, and the facebooks, and the iPhones, and the tweeters, and the gangs, and some blame even my favourite porno star! And lets not forget that BS of equality, political correctness, and tolerance. While there is no simple answer to the problem, it is simple to profile rioters. They have usually a particular source, a particular attitude, and common cause that creates their own community of like minded folks. And usually it goes like this: destroy things, take drugs, and ignore rules; so what? Build things, avoid drugs, and follow the rules even when nobody is to supervise; no way Jose!

And that sounds to me like an spoilt child. I ask you.
