Rise To Challenge - [In Jubilee]

While Rise To Challenge - [In Jubilee] has been composed to celebrate 200 Years of Peace, it does offer a unique glimpse into the uses and practices of 18th and 19th Century Music, as associated through War of 1812-1815 activities. Originally scored for Period Fife and Drums, this music pays tribute to two coexisting realities; balancing the desire to evoke a sense of normalcy -- with spirited, enlightened enjoyment at a time of peace and away from fields of battle; with the need to adhere to strict, disciplinary drills of military precision --- specifically designed to prepare for, and to execute during actions of war. Today, beyond its original scope, Rise To Challenge - [In Jubilee] serves as a contemporary invitation for youth to step back, explore the War of 18121815 through yesteryears music; then move forward with respect, and in celebration, by re-enacting the ways of old sounds and traditional stylings via 21st Century Media tools.

(*note: Composers have, knowingly, on occasion, associated the Key of D minor with Death)

In Rise To Challenge, parallel Key of D Major respectfully maintains that association; however, in this instance, Tonic Note D merely underscores that role -- while the Major Mode, respectfully elevates the act of taking action on to supersede that fate.)
