Remote Control
What is it and how does it work?
The remote control allows you to communicate with the boiler from your favourite room in the home. This means you can fit the boiler in the most suitable point of installation and control it from a distance. The few control buttons and the display panel on the remote control allow for a simple yet powerful management of the temperature regulation in your home, as well as the complete control of your domestic hot water supply. The sophisticated technology used guarantees a unique comfort. The remote control also provides initial help in the event of a boiler malfunction, indicating the type of anomaly detected, suggesting action to solve the problem or recommending you call the Service Centre for assistance. The remote control is in fact an efficient and reliable ally for your well-being. The main user/boiler dialogue controls are as follows:

Here is a brief summary of what you can do with the remote control (each function is illustrated in more detail over the next few pages). Turn the boiler on and off. Adjust the temperature of the room, central heating and domestic hot water supply. Use an automatic weekly central heating programme on two room temperature levels, extremely easy to personalise. Improve the general comfort of your home, with the automatic temperature correction of the central heating flow to the radiators, just by installing an external temperature sensor. Temporarily adjust the programme set with the Party and Holiday functions. Manage the peripheral units: zone valve. Control any anomalies.

Automatic operation
When this operating mode is selected, the boiler lights automatically both for central heating as well as for the production of Domestic Hot Water. The word AUTO is displayed on the screen. The heating cycle will follow the default weekly temperature regulation programme on two temperature levels: COMFORT temperature ( ), normally used during the daytime, ECONOMY temperature ( ), normally used at night. The combination of the two different room temperature features with the time bands foreseen (see chapter entitled How to adjust the weekly temperature regulation programme) will ensure you maximum comfort, always. The display will indicate the situation relative to the current day and the hours of the day during which programming is required.

Possible anomalies
In the event of boiler malfunctions, the PCB actuates an appliance shutdown, if necessary. There are two types of appliance shutdowns: Operation lockout (A) Safety cut-off (E)
Operation lockout A
This type of appliance shutdown is called non-volatile, and is indicated on the display by a number preceded by the letter (A) ) and by some symbols, as illustrated in the table below:
The shutdown can be deactivated by pressing the illuminated RESET button. Red RESET button
In the table, each error code is associated with the cause behind it.
DISPLAY CAUSE SHUTDOWN DUE TO FAILED AUTOMATIC IGNITION OF THE BURNER
A 01 A 03 A 97 A 98 A: 99
Important If this shutdown occurs frequently, contact an authorised Service Centre for assistance. For safety reasons, the boiler will allow a maximum of 5 reset operations to take place in 15 minutes (pressing the RESET button). If the shutdown is occasional or an isolated event, this is not a problem.
Safety cut-off E
In the event of a safety cut-off (displayed with the code and symbols shown in the table), you must not interfere: the boiler will automatically try to reset itself and to relight. Should this not be the case, contact an authorised Service Centre for assistance.

NOTE - The boiler shutdown due to low water, as indicated by the symbol and by the error E 02, may be due to a lack of water inside the boiler itself. Before calling for assistance, check the pressure of the system on the pressure gauge (please see chapter entitled Preliminary operations, paragraph Resetting the system pressure). Should the pressure be insufficient, turn the boiler off (see the Shut off chapter) and relight it in accordance with the instructions provided in the Preliminary operations chapter.

Useful tips
Here are a few useful tips on the use, safety and maintenance of your appliance for a better all-round performance. Check the system pressure on the pressure gauge on a regular basis (see chapter entitled Preliminary operations, paragraph Resetting the system pressure). Keep in mind that any pressure resetting operations should be carried out with the system cold. If the pressure drops frequently, there may be a water leak at some point in the system. Contact your installer. If there is a water leak, close the water cut-off valves. Any purpose provided ventilation in the room where the boiler has been installed should be checked periodically to ensure it is free from obstruction. If you can smell gas, close the gas cut-off valve and do not actuate any electrical switches, telephones or any other object that may cause a spark. Air the room, opening all windows and doors. In the event of overpressure in the central heating or DHW circuits, water may leak from the safety valves. In this case, decrease the pressure as follows: 1) for the central heating system, act on the radiator valves; 2) for the domestic hot water system, decrease the water pressure to the recommended nominal values. If the water hardness is excessive (35-45 F), add a little water softener, to ensure the boiler always performs to the best of its ability in time and to reduce gas consumption. The boiler panels should be wiped with a damp cloth soaked in soapy water only. Make sure you organise the annual servicing of your boiler with an authorised service centre.
