-In the light of the above viewpoints, Common mistakes in doing data-response questions ~Mistake #1: absence of data Some candidates answered the question without making use of the sources. The data in the sources could have been useful in consolidating the answers. (Extracted from the examination report) General reminder ~MUST REFER to the data in your answer! ~Must elaborate your answer (in your own words)! Providing a well-balanced answer ~Many questions require candidates to discuss issues from a range of perspectives and different opinions before giving a conclusion or judgment. ~The mark allocation may give you some hint for such requirement (usually 8 marks or above).
