Language Arts Get basic diagram sheets and work packet on nouns ready for next week. DATE 9/8 STANDARD(S) AND ELEMENT(S): ELA6R2 (vocabulary usage), ELA C1(grammar conventions),ELA6R1 (graphic organizers) , ELA6W1 Tell students to go take tests on their summer reading ASAP, but to review their books first. General needs 25 pts by end of 1st Sem. and Gifted needs 40 pts. Tell students to utilize the library in the mornings and after school until 4:30. A/R book should have been chosen by now. MATERIALS: SPRINGBOARD & supplemental ELEMENTS OF LITERATURE materials METHODS: 1.Do DGP, WOD, and copy the spelling words 2. General classes: listen to Eleven and show Russian doll. Teacher complete DGP check on 1st p 3. Do S.B. Guided Reading p.28 3. All: Using overhead transparency, go over the guided reading with the class 4. Journal; Which event did you bring pictures on, and what did or does it mean to you? 4-5th p. 5. Dist. Memory Map handout and discuss 5. Review: Dist. Grammar Handout and give weekly packet Nouns and intro to diagramming MISC. / H.W. 1. Spelling: alphabetize words and write them 5xs in cursive 2. Materials for the Memory Maps: directions, rubric, photos, and scrap paper for sentences 4. Disc. Creating a rough draft and colors to use for each statement. LIST ON BOARD requirements for each sentence and colors. Students begin rough drafts show under line paper for final draft 5. Teacher checks spelling in binders continues on Wed MISC. / H.W. 1. Spelling: write the words, define them, and write their synonyms 2. Packet: do page 2 ELT: Cont. oral reading in the book. Review sentence structure and requirements for Memory Map. 3. Complete rough drafts in color..put together paper for the final draft 4. Project Due Monday for 4th and 5th p. and Wed. for others MISC./H.W. 1. Spelling: Create a sentence of at least 6 words showing that you know how to use each spelling word. Write in cursive. 2.
