Powerful Hardware Platform Employing a dual-plane hardware architecture, the UMG8900 is capable of switching TDM and IP packets and converting between TDM and IP packets. Improved Codec Conversion UMG8900 supports widely used codecs for mobile and fixed domain. The interworking between different networks balances QoS and improves voice quality. Flexible and Effective Networking With the UMG8900 deployed, TDM/IP networking and 2G/3G establishing becomes possible and the legacy TDM network can smoothly evolve towards an IP network. The UMG8900 is a core network product used in our SingleCORE@Fixed solution. It provides TDMIP conversion, enables interworking between different networks, and processes service stream formats. As it can be used in the NGN network to provide TG and SG functions in conjunction with switches, operators can benefit from a low-cost, future-orientated mobile telecommunication network.
