Located in Scottsdale, PoSh is considered to be one of the most adventurous restaurants in the metro Phoenix area. The menu here is like no other, because, wellthere really isnt one! Chef Joshua herbert, owner of PoSh, created the concept of the restaurant in late 2008 with the idea that diners should direct some element of what they want, but should also be subject to adventure in their overall experience.
Upon arriving or when making a reservation online (poshscottsdale.com), customers are given a document that allows them to indicate how many courses they would like (ranging from four to a full tasting), cross off any ingredients they dont like, point out any allergies they have and specify their desired cooking temperatures for fish and other meats. After receiving this information, the chef creates a unique meal which is based on the guests requests and what is fresh and seasonally available. Some recent seasonal highlights include Halibut Cheeks with Meyer lemon aioli; Kobe Beef with pickled ramps and wasabi butter; Mushroom-Braised Veal with morels, peas and fresh mint; Seared Monkfish with crushed peas, roasted peppers and pommes Anna; Snapper with crisp skin, tomato petals, tendrils and sweet chile soy; and Red Wine-Poached Salmon with spring garlic and artichoke. The restaurant describes itself as serving improvisational cuisine, and this is exactly what guests can expect to receive. The dishes that are made at POSH are not only created for specific individuals based on their taste, but include ingredients that arent typically found at your average restaurant. If you havent had alligator, frog, wild boar bacon or kangaroo, get excited, as items such as these may appear on your plate.
