Robert Morrison University of Arizona / CONACYT Advanced Technology Transfer Project Mr. Morrison, This consulting internship is seeking talented MBA students who are self-starting team players, who possess adaptability to changing circumstances, comfort with ambiguity, and a strong ability to communicate clearly in a multicultural environment. As both a professional and a student, I believe that I have developed the aforementioned qualities, managing projects both abroad and within the United States. I co-founded and managed a digital record label and talent roster that represented artists from Europe, South America and the United States for five years while living in South America. In addition, I have also worked as an English Professor and consultant in private institutes, public universities, and corporate settings while in South America. Upon returning to the United States in late 2009, I held a Project Manager position with the U.S. Department of Commerce last year, prior to enrolling at Thunderbird. While I am not an engineer or IT expert, I do have experience working on a wide variety of projects, managing people, and integrating the skill sets of different professional backgrounds for the overall positive outcome of the project at hand. One of the reasons that I am interested in this internship is to gain experience in the areas of business plan development and financial analysis. I have been responsible in the past for developing strategic plans, managing teams, setting and hitting benchmarks, and writing proposals, but have not had much exposure on the financial side of operations. I am doing very well in my finance classes thus far, and am definitely hoping to move in that direction for further career opportunities. On another note, my Spanish is fluent. I minored in Spanish during college, and spent an entire semester living in Spain within the household of a Spanish-speaking family. Subsequently, I made my primary residence in Medellin, Colombia (S. America) for nearly 4 years after finishing my undergraduate degree. I am a clear communicator, an experienced team player, and highly flexible. I am currently in my second trimester at Thunderbird and living in the Glendale area.
