I was born and raised in the beautiful district of Muar which is located at South Malaysia. I am the third out of four children in my family. I left my secondary school for 11 years already. The word teaching itself carries the meaning of the activities that are designed and performed to produce change in student

behavior (Clark, 1970). I believe that, through teaching or

educate, someone can change their behavior into positive one. The responsibility of a teacher is not only focusing on academic basic but also serves to educate the students to face the challengers of life today. Through education, someone can change his life for the better. In order to fulfill that mission, extensive effort and helping hands undivided energy from teacher or educators are required.

Through teaching, I believed that a teacher can assist student to learn how to learn with the right method in academic area. During lesson period, a teacher also can put some moral value in the middle of the lesson. By relate the lesson with the moral value, the teacher already create some idea on having positive lifestyle in their student mind. The advice might not be applied by the student immediately, but it will be use later since the teachers already teach the positive value to the student before.

I believed that via teaching I am not just delivering knowledge to my student, I as well learn something new every time I enter the class to teach. Learning is not just during childhood or in class room, but it take place throughout the life and in a range of situation. It called Life Long Learning, which should be applied by everyone.

My Teaching Philosophy

TEACHING AND LEARNING SESSION IS SHARING KNOWLEDGE MOMENT

As a teacher, I believe that every teacher have different philosophy. In shaping the teaching methodology, a teacher should employ at least one teaching philosophy. One can employed different philosophy in their teaching career. My teaching philosophies are mix combination of idealism, pragmatism, realism and existentialism. I believe by applying each philosophy, I can diversify my teaching method and be creative and innovative in the process of delivering the lesson.

I like to set in each of my student mind that, learning is a process of gaining knowledge. Learning also is a process of sharing knowledge between the teachers with students. Through teaching, I can share a lot of knowledge that not consist on the academic matter only. I may share knowledge on social life, moral value and general info as well.

During lesson time, the student may share their knowledge with other student and me as their teacher too. As we know, teacher are always mature than the student. However, we cannot underestimate the capability of the student nowadays. The student may know more about some matters rather than the teacher.

As mention by John Dewey, child learns by doing. Means that, child learns through experience. In knowledge sharing session, student can experience that learning is fun and easy way by using the appropriate method. Me as a teacher act as a facilitator to guide them to pop out the idea in their mind that can be shared with the class. Therefore, the student may knowhow to share knowledge with their friend.

In my class, I would like to see the sharing knowledge moment full with the student asking questions, suggest answers or do some debate. I will join the debate as a facilitator in order to make sure they are in right track during the debate session.

My experience teaching the remove class require me to improve my capability to understand little bit of word from other language which will help me to make them understand the lesson that I taught. I learn little Chinese word from my Chinese student in different class. I show to them that learning is not mean for students only. I also learn about other races culture from my non Malays student. It not surprises to me that they enjoy and excited to share their knowledge with me since I already set in their mind that teaching and learning session is sharing knowledge moment.

I will try as best as I can to answer every question by my student. I believed that teacher is the mother and father of the student at school. Student should not be afraid to being close with us. I believe in getting to know my students strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes then, I may help them to grow. Teaching is an intimate contact between a more mature personality and less mature one which is designed to further the education of the latter (H. E. Morrison, 1934).

I will give the opportunity to the students to share their opinion without showing any special treatment for several students. All students will be treated fairly. I believe in treating students equally. However, I will treat students differently according to their needs.

Study in group may help student to share their knowledge with their friends. I will prepare a lot of activities that requires the student to discuss in group. Later, they need to present their findings. As the teacher, I will guide them on how to get the reliable findings and correcting them if their doing is wrong.

Student always more open during outside the classroom. They always happy and enjoy doing activities outside the classroom. Therefore, I like to do extra-curricular activities or field trips. Both activities provide students with an excellent opportunity to learn skills which are not always possible to teach within the four walls.

Conclusion

I believe in positivity. No matter what life throws at me, I believe that attitudes are contagious and a positive attitude is always preferable to a negative attitude.

When I start with zero knowledge in teaching, it is really challenging for me as to adapt the new environment of work. Been assigned at three different school give me a lot of information and experience as a teacher. Meeting with different type of student that come from different background really thought me the difficulty of this professionalism. My experience teaching of student at remove class up to form five provided me some complexity to handle them. Each student has their own style. I really need to adapt the different atmosphere for every class and every school that I attend to.

I feel happy if my student also happy and enjoy in my class and manage to get the knowledge that I teach during my lesson. It is such a bonus if all of them manages to get flying color result of the examination. I love to see my student not afraid to ask me question regarding to what are the lesson of the day. It shows that they are listening to what I teach and passes a confident to speak up on what playing in their mind. Student participation in class activity is crucially important. Their behavior during class activity will portray their true color.

Being a teacher help me to realize the important of being patient in handling people. As we know, people are not born to be exactly same as others. The different of them are really interesting to be discovered.
