Introduction Paragraph A) Thesis: The numerous governments of France, from 1789 to 1958, shifted quite frequently due to the support of the people they represented, food prices as a result of inflation, and due to foreign influences.

IV) Body Paragraph #3 - Foreign influences A) Declaration of Pillnitz (August 1791) - Austria and Prussia advocating for the restoration of monarchy i. But the support of the people behind the government when the War of the first coalition began in April 1792 ii. Victory in Paris sparks nationalist sentiment; strong government B) First Coalition - Spring 1793 i. England, Spain, Holland, and Sardinia added themselves to Austria and Prussia ii. Faced with invasion, created the committee of public safety a) Levee en Masse - Universal adult male conscription b) Nationalism and total way put the people in favor of the government; strong government c) Eventually, with the tyrannical government of the Committee of Public safety pressing upon their lives government approval plunged and created a weak government C) 1804-1815 - Napoleon defeats Europe in many battles and gains a great deal of land; public approval increases as well as nationalism, creating a powerful government D) Paris Commune 1871- Reaction against Franco-Prussian war and the new government V) Conclusion

Thesis: Every revolution, eventually reverts back to authoritarian rule at some point in time. This can be seen by Oliver Cromwell during the English Revolution, Robespierre in the French Revolution as well as Napoleon, and Lenin during the Russian revolution.
