How to access WebDAV (or the 'cFolders customizing')?

Description
To be able to change cFolders standard settings (such as user settings or languages), the appearance of cFolders, attributes of i.e. materials or to you have to access the relevant XML files using the WebDAV client.

Reason
The customizing/all settings in cFolders are stored in WebDAV in form of XML-files.

WebDAV is an XML-based enhancement of the HTTP/1.1 protocol for asynchronous document management, which is the standard

Create an external alias:


Create an external alias in the cFolders system. For this go to transaction SICF, the Maintain Service screen appears. For the Hierarchy Type select ALIAS and execute. The Maintain External Aliases screen appears. Select default-host and choose External Alias > Create. Enter a name and description for the external alias in the External Alias and Description fields. Use the following entry format: "/<Alias Name>" For example: /cfolders-settings . This entry is case sensitive, which is important when you enter an address in your browser address line. On the Logon data tab page, enter a client number. Next, choose the Trg Element tab page the Target Element entry Save your entries. You can now access the cFolders settings through a WebDAV client using the following URL: <Protocol>://<Server>:<Port>/<External alias The way to access WebDAV is also explained in the cFolders configuration guide, chapter Creating the Settings URL for WebDAV Access

In the Virt. Hosts/Services column, choose default_host sap bc kw cfs and double-click this folder. The URL /default_host/sap/bc/kw/cfs

Set up WebFolders as a WebDAV Client:


Once you have created the URL for WebDAV access, you need to set up i.e. Microsoft Windows WebFolders as a WebDAV Client:

Depending on the operating system, choose My Network Places > Add Network Place in your Microsoft Windows Explorer (or: open your Explor choose the link Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server). The Add Network Place Wizard appears. Enter the appropriate URL in the entry field in the following format: <Protocol>://<Server>:<Port>/<External Alias Settings>

Choose Continue. The dialog box for entering the network password appears. Enter your user name and password and choose ok. The Add Network Place Wizard reappears. Enter the name of the folder in the entry field as you want it to be displayed in your file explorer. Choose Finish.
