COURSE DESCRIPTION
Transmission & Distribution is the study of the transmission line parameters and performance. In this course the students will learn to calculate the transmission parameters like resistance, inductance and capacitance. They will know the different types of insulators. They will also study the mechanical design of overhead transmission lines. This course is included in the program because being electrical students their main concern is in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. This course will help them to understand the various factors related in transmission and distribution of electrical energy.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objective of this course is to make students understand what are the factors related to transmission and distribution of electrical energy. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. To learn the transmission parameters. To understand transmission performance To know the different types of insulators being used. To learn the design of overhead transmission lines. To learn the different types of distribution systems.
