Abstract The researcher tac led the scientific basis of third person effect the ries with focusing on the gate eeper theory and the third person e fect theory. Although this theory is not an effective theory, even if the researcher sees that it has an effect on the media content , the communication representative effects on the media content through controlling the media content. Also, the study focused on understan ing the third person effect theory and the role of the communication representative in it as the main objective of the study. The study also aimed to understand the role of the communication representative in light of the gate ee per theory. The study concentrated on reali ing the similarities and differences between the gate eeper theory and the third person effect theory as well as the role of the communication representative in it. The study has utilized the qual itative approach as a way to reach results and analyze such results. The study f ound some of the significant results ; in the third person effect theory, the co mmunication representatives role consists in realizing the media effect associate d with the communication representatives behaviors. Also, the journalists feel wi th the media effects of the Press career and this feeling motivates them to pres ent good media wor s, but, regarding the communication representative role in lig ht of the Gate eeper theory , his role is limited to realizing the media effect of the media values of the media institutions then the personal , the emergence of the media institutions and the size of the public as factors affecting the co mmunication representative , and stic ing to the professional media values . The study also revealed some of the 199 philosophical discrepancies for the journalists inside the news room and the fie ld editors or the correspondents. The study noticed the di ference of criteria a nd values of journalists inside the news room and field editors when judging the media materials and judging the effect on self and public , the emergence of th e role of the media institutions in influencing the journalists inside the news room , while the effect of the media institution is less on the field journalist s or correspon ents.
