LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening is a Light-cure enamel sealant for whitening anterior teeth.

Placement involves 3 simple steps:

1. POLISHa uniquely formulated polishing paste that cleans and prepares the surface. 2. WHITENcreates a pigmented crystallized finish. 3. GLOSSa natural final coating that adds vitality and prolongs the life of the whitener. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Teeth with cavities. Poor periodontal health that may lead to bleeding during the procedure. Teeth with plaque or calculus will need to have prophylactic treatment prior to placement. Teeth with restorations (bonding may be an exception). Removable appliances may need to be replaced or adjusted. TIPS: 1. Teeth that are crowded or overlapping are more difficult cases because it is hard to manipulate the material around these teeth. For a first case, it is not recommended. 2. For patients seeking to whiten their lowers to match their LUMINEERS an exact match will not occur. It is recommended that patients be briefed on what to expect prior to placement. 3. When applying Step 2 (LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitener), the thinner the material and the less it is manipulated, the better the results. 4. If application is too thick, use a cotton swab to wipe off excess, then go back and touch up. 5. Try to keep the material thinner on the incisal tips, especially on the lower teeth. This is the area that could interfere with the bite. Remove 5 microns to allow room if necessary. 6. If necessary, use discs to remove the Whitener. INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1 POLISH 1. Apply lip moisturizer to both upper and lower lips. Insert retractor. 2. Prophy teeth that are to be whitened with LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening Polishing Paste. Allow paste to remain on teeth for 15 to 20 seconds. Rinse thoroughly for at least 1 minute and air-dry. Avoid any contact of the Polishing Paste to the soft tissue since this has an etching component. 3. Put 5 drops each of Tenure A and B into a dappen dish and mix well. Brush 5 coats, or until glossy, on teeth to be whitened. Gently air-dry. 4. Apply 1 coat of Tenure S. Step 2 WHITEN 1. Dispense LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening from syringe into a dappen dish. a. Use a brush to apply LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening in a thin translucent layer to the labial surface of the teeth, one tooth at a time.

b. Use air syringe to gently flow the material into the interproximal and gingival areas of the tooth. Allow the material to self-level. c. Apply an additional thin layer if necessary. See Tips section. 2. Cure LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening with Sapphire Supreme Plasma Arc Curing Light for 5 seconds per tip width. Note: If using a different light, determine the correct exposure time required to cure LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening material. 3. Use CeriSaw to open contacts, one tooth at a time. 4. Repeat all steps for the next tooth to be whitened. Step 3 GLOSS 1. Dispense LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening Gloss from syringe into dappen dish. Use brushes provided to apply in a thin layer. 2. Cure LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening Gloss with Sapphire Supreme PAC Light for 5 seconds per tip width. 3. Use CeriSaw to open contacts, one tooth at a time. 4. Finish with polishing disc or a 12 fluted carbide bur where necessary, including margins. Patient After Care: To help prolong whitening results, direct the patient to follow these instructions. If care is taken, whitening can last up to 6 months.* 1. Instruct the patient to avoid dark liquids and foods for 24 hours. 2. Be aware that certain hygiene tools could cause chipping. Therefore, remind the hygienist that the patient has undergone the LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening procedure at the time of recall appointments. 3. If a patient has a night guard, it is recommended that the night guard be readjusted to allow room for the added LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening material. 4. If a patient has a removable appliance, such as a partial, readjust it at the time of whitening.* INSTRUCTIONS FOR TOUCH-UP: 1. Remove existing coat of Whitener from the tooth to be re-treated, one tooth at a time, using a slow handpiece with a fine or medium Soflex disc. 2. Follow the steps described for application of the LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening (Step 2-WHITEN). Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a Dentist.
