INTRODUCTION

What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

CSR is also called corporate conscience, corporate citizenship, social performance, or sustainable responsible business. It is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. CSR policy functions as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business monitors and ensures its active compliance with the spirit of the law, ethical standards, and international norms. The goal of CSR is to embrace responsibility for the company's actions and encourage a positive impact through its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Furthermore, CSRfocused businesses would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth and development and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of legality. CSR is the deliberate inclusion of PI into corporate decision-making, which is the core business of the company or firm, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: people, planet, profit.

Definition of CSR:
Corporate initiative to assess and take responsibility for the company's effects on the environment and impact on social welfare. The term generally applies to company efforts that go beyond what may be required by regulators or environmental protection groups. Corporate social responsibility may also be referred to as "corporate citizenship" and can involve incurring short-term costs that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the

company, but instead promote positive social and environmental change. Companies have a lot of power in the community and in the national economy. They control a lot of assets, and may have billions in cash at their disposal for socially conscious investments and programs. Some companies may engage in "green washing", or feigning interest in corporate responsibility, but many large corporations are devoting real time and money to environmental sustainability programs, alternative energy/cleanses, and various social welfare initiatives to benefit employees, customers, and the community at large.

CSR is titled to aid an organization's mission as well as a guide to what the company stands for and will uphold to its consumers. Development business ethics is one of the forms of applied ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that can arise in a business environment. ISO 26000 is the recognized international standard for CSR. Public sector organizations adhere to the triple bottom line (TBL). It is widely accepted that CSR adheres to similar principles but with no formal act of legislation. The UN has developed principal for responsible respondents as guidelines for investing entities.

The nature and scope of corporate social responsibility has changed over time. The concept of CSR is a relatively new onethe phrase has only been in wide use since the 1960s. But, while the economic, legal, ethical, and discretionary expectations placed on organizations may differ, it is probably accurate to say that all societies at all points in time have had some degree of expectation that organizations would act responsibly, by some definition. In the eighteenth century the great economist and philosopher Adam Smith expressed the traditional or classical economic model of business. In essence, this model suggested that the needs and desires of society could best be met by the unfettered interaction of individuals and organizations in the marketplace. By acting in a self-interested manner, individuals would produce and deliver the goods and services that would earn them a profit, but also meet the needs of others. The viewpoint expressed by Adam Smith over 200 years ago still forms the basis for free-market economies in the twenty-first century. However, even Smith recognized that the free market did not always perform perfectly and he stated that marketplace participants must act honestly and justly

Why do we need CSR?

The idea of CSR is to urge corporations to embrace not just the interests of shareholders, but also the interests of multiple stakeholders in the conduct of its activities. These stakeholders often include employees, suppliers, customers, and the local community in which the corporation conducts its business.

CSR is not a new phenomenon, although it has experienced a renaissance in the last decade after 20 years in which it had largely been ignored. The importance of CSR and the manner in which society regulates corporate behavior is illustrated with two historical examples from Anglo-Indian history. Today, CSR is described as having an impact in four primary ways organizational, institutional, individual and global. These are described and the modern-day anticipated outcome social innovation is explored.

Companies with high CSR standards are able to clearly demonstrate responsibility to investors, legislators, shareholders, employees, customers and the general public, and therefore manage risk and enhance their corporate reputation. By focusing on and reducing their environ-mental impacts, they are also saving money on electricity bills, resource use and waste removal. Companies with rigorous corporate responsibility standards are also best positioned to attract and retain high quality staff, thereby reducing employee turnover rates and recruitment costs.

Our concepts of CSR stem from our CSR policy which has been designed to create future value for all our stakeholders particularly the communities in which we operate. MMTC is strongly aware that companies are also members of the society and that a company cannot remain sustainable unless it co-exists with society as a good corporate citizen and meets the expectations of society through its business activities. We believe that it is our mission to understand diverse values as a truly responsible enterprise, meet the expectations of society, and continue to be a company that is needed by society. Our three pillars under the CSR policy not only reflect our ideology but continue to guide us on our road to responsible development. This would also enable us to maintain our relationships with the people that matter to the business most effectively. However, we realize that, to deliver on our strategy we need to understand the direct and indirect impacts, both positive and negative, that are created by our operations, products and services. With this in mind we aim to integrate environmental and social considerations into day-to-day business decision-making and operational practices. This report will take you through the various initiatives that the company has carried out for the benefit of the local communities and the environment since 2007. In CSR activities, Mineral and Metal Trading Corporation Ltd. should make available best education. In addition along with education they can provide midday meals school timing for the nourishment of the children. If MMTC considers that students are poor, then they could be distributed uniforms and studies materials such as pencils, sharpener and water bottle etc.

MMTC can play role by giving Yoga classes in schools and parks for making their better life. It is why necessary because children of our country are the future of the country. When the children will be healthy, obviously the future of country will be strong. The target can be easily achieved.

In some areas like North-Eastern, it is seen that there were roads that are plenty of ups and downs but not strong. It is presumed that a good road saves valuable time. Roads make the business easy because thousands of people pass away on roads daily.

The company must encourage for increasing domestic work such as making candle sticks, match sticks, weaving, painting, pottery etc. It is an important point because the organization can open up employment in a more creative way and also for women. In this way, they can support the poor people.
