A SMART BUILDING FOR ART, the PHI Centre provides unique occasions to come in contact with artists, creators, innovators and their works. A SMART BUILDING FOR ART, four floors of versatile space adaptable to all types of events imaginable: launches, conferences, colloquia, screenings, exhibitions, concerts, shows, interactive installations. A SMART BUILDING FOR ART, with a host of production studios and creative spaces the most sophisticated technical resources available in the hands of artists and innovators. A SMART BUILDING FOR ART, is exciting creative ideas of all manners, for all manner of people, coming from all manner of context possible - from the neighbourhood to the other side of the planet. A SMART BUILDING FOR ART, is a space for producing work that is inspiring and thought-provoking; work that is responsive and edgy, that wakes you up and is a motor for change. A SMART BUILDING FOR ART, is a space in constant evolution, always changing from one visit to the next, yet never entirely different - every PHI Centre experience is unique.

In the heart of historic Old Montreal, the PHI experience begins at our main entrance. The hall leads to Space A, our 380-capacity performance venue that can host a variety of events, from film premieres to live music.

Le Rhinocros like every thing else at the PHI Centre was conceived to be flexible. You could use it as a waiting room, work space, reading room or meeting place. And naturally, Le Rhinocros is wired. Even more, it's Wi-PHI.

In development In our final phase of development, the ground floor will also include a fully licensed restaurant, offering fresh and premium local products. An ideal place for unwinding, socializing and networking.

A remarkable acoustical achievement, the PHI Centre is designed to preserve the aural integrity of all works presented and produced. As such, Space C is uniquely built with exceptional acoustic considerations in mind, preventing sound contamination from other areas.

The digital nerve centre of the PHI complex is found in the surround sound control room. Here, professionals and artists have access to state-of-the-art recording, editing and broadcasting technologies for films, music, and television productions. RECORDING STUDIO (A/V) Ergonomic design allows for intimate high-fidelity (hi-fi) recording. Features: Multichannel digital recording system Sound isolation booth (percussion-ready) Live mixing for HD broad- and webcasting EDITING STUDIO Complete live HD recording-enabled editing suites, linked to Space A and Space B. ARTIST QUARTERS Artists and collaborators can unwind or brainstorm in our artist quarters. PROJECTION/CONTROL ROOM Cortex of the media nervous system where activities are captured and processed.
