System Requirements for InterMapper

InterMapper is the only Network Monitoring Software that runs on All Major Platforms InterMapper Platforms/Operating Systems

Windows 7/XP/Vista/2003/2008 (Note: IPv6 support requires Vista SP1, Server 2008, or newer)

Mac OS X 10.5 or newer Linux distributions*: Red Hat, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE and others Solaris SPARC or x86

InterMapper System Requirements InterMapper's system requirements are quite frugal. The major influence is the number of devices that you want to monitor the more devices, the more CPU, RAM, and Disk space you will need. The numbers below are relevant for all operating systems.
# Devices up to 100 devices 200 devices 500 devices 1000 devices More devices CPU Any Dual Core Dual Core Quad Core Quad Core RAM Disk With IM Database 1 GB 20 GB 80 GB 1 GB 40 GB 100 GB 2 GB 100 GB 350 GB 4 GB 200 GB 700 GB Contact support@intermapper.com for details

The Disk column shows the amount of disk space needed for the program and the chart data. The "Using IM Database" column shows the total amount of disk if you wish to use InterMapper Database. The disk sizes listed retain 30-second raw data samples for 30 days, and summarized data for 2 years.

System Requirements for InterMapper Flows

Cross-platform Support InterMapper Flows supports Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux and Unix operating systems.

Windows XP/2003/Vista/Windows Server 2008 MacOSX 10.4 and newer Linux distributions, including Red Hat, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, SuSE and others Unix distributions including Solaris and OpenSolaris 10 and higher, on SPARC 64bit, and i86_pc 64-bit and FreeBSD.

System Requirements

InterMapper Flows requires a fairly powerful computer: both processor power and the amount of RAM are important considerations. Although you may perform initial testing using a VM (virtual machine) environment, we do not recommend that you use a VM in production because the performance is frequently not good enough. InterMapper Flows benefits from having a large amount of RAM for its database cache. Use a 64-bit Windows, Macintosh, Linux, or Unix system if you wish to allocate more than 1.5 GBytes of RAM for the cache.. This table indicates the recommended system requirements for various flow rates.
FLOWS PER HOUR 100 million 10 million 1 million RECOMMENDED MINIMUM SPEC Quad core, 3GHz, 65 GB of RAM, RAID storage Requires 64-bit Windows, Linux, Unix, or Macintosh hardware. Quad or Dual core, 16 GB of RAM Requires 64-bit Windows, Linux, Unix, or Macintosh hardware. Dual core, 4 GB of RAM

System Requirements for InterMapper RemoteAccess

Cross-platform Support

Windows 7/XP/Vista/2003/2008 Mac OS X 10.5 or newer Linux distributions: Red Hat, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE and others Solaris SPARC or x86

Java 1.5 is required. In general, any computer capable of running Mac OS X 10.5, or a 1 GHz Pentium or faster Windows 7/XP/Vista/2003/2008 or Unix computer with 512 MBytes of RAM will support InterMapper RemoteAccess. *Customers who install InterMapper on a headless server will need to use either some type of remote desktop access program that supports remote sounds or a copy of InterMapper RemoteAccess.
